ABSTRACT
Riverbank Sand resources has meant a great challenge upon the researchers to
investigate the potential of utilizing Sea Sand as substitute aggregate for Concrete
The results showed that the difference between the density of concrete
hollow blocks with sea sand aggregate and concrete hollow blocks with riverbank
sand aggregate was not significant. Concrete hollow blocks containing sea sand
concrete hollow blocks with a density of 20.5144 kg/m3 in the 28 days curing
period. Also, the difference between the compressive strength of concrete hollow
blocks with sea sand aggregate and concrete hollow blocks with riverbank sand
aggregate was significant. Concrete hollow blocks containing sea sand aggregate
MPa in the 28 days curing period. Lastly, the difference between the flexural
iv
strength of concrete hollow blocks with sea sand aggregate and concrete hollow
blocks with riverbank sand aggregate was not significant. Concrete hollow blocks
containing sea sand aggregate had higher flexural strength of 1.186 MPa
flexural strength of 0.736 MPa in the 28 days curing period. The researchers
therefore concluded a higher potential on sea sand as substitute for riverbank sand
