Vatsalya is a place full of action for the underprivileged children. There are activities that
give them exposure to the society and life, while some give them life skills that prepare them
for their life ahead. We give you a glimpse of the action in the months of January to April
2017 in this issue of our newsletter Dhwani.

Developmental services for the

Children

All the children of Vatsalya look forward to the celebration of their common
birthday on February 14th. Even the children who were part of Vatsalya years ago
wish to come here on this day and renew their bond with the organization. This
year we had one more reason to celebrate – the launch of the musical book
“Geetrenu” collected school songs by Vatsalya’s Rural team along with the
children. The event was packed with lots of games and dances. Rohit Shahu one
of the boy for shelter home anchored the event beautifully, interspersed with
jokes & couplet.

Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2017
Every year we participated in the
fundraising campaign run by United
Way of Mumbai. This culminated on
“One of the best birthdays I
could give my son. Most January 15th in the Mumbai Marathon
well behaved and in which thousands of people run for a
disciplined kids ever!!” said cause. During 30 volunteer were

Networking with Corporate
On 12th Jan. 2017 Mahindra finance
company invited Vatsalya Children in
their company at Worli Mahindra
Tower. First they gave orientation
about company. They organized some
games activity with our children.
Children enjoyed the lots of fun; doing
dance with employees. All employees
had interacted with our children. After
end of event they gave individual gift
for children. Our children were very
happy to receive individual gift.
20th Jan Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd team
visited to The Vatsalya Foundation. They
came first time in the Vatsalya
Foundation. All team was very inspired
after meeting our kids. They conducted
one day meal for our children and their
teams. All teams member played games
and dance with children. Mahindra &
Mahindra volunteer were very happy to
interact with kids. They enjoyed lots of
fun. They want to come again and spent
time with our kids.

Clariant Chemicals (India) LTD associated with the Vatsalya Foundation since 2011. Every year Clariant
team visits The Vatsalya Foundation shelter home, but this time on 21st April 2017 Dr. Deepak Parikh
Vice Chairman & Managing Director invited our youth student to visit Clariant Head Office, Mumbai.
They gave lots of information about company, their production and process of various departments.
Dr. Deepak Pareikh and his team gave carrier guidance to our children. After 12th / Graduation what is
your aim and how to improve yourself. Students were very happy to visit the Company. They developed
lots of confidence and are thankful to Clarinet Team. This is children’s first experience & unforgivable
memories for our students.

CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP - CASA –CEMP (APTAR Group)

The representatives of CASA-CEMP APTAR Group visited Vatsalya on January 25th. Meinard Arnold
expressed on behalf of the group, “...Thank you very much for this nice time spent with you, we
were very impressed! We wish you luck and happiness! THANK YOU . Aptar Group supports higher
education of children of Vatsalya since many years. This year Aptar group first time sponsor
delicious dinner for the children. Aptar member were very happy to meet kids, they spent time with
kids and get-together. They enjoyed the delicious food.

Children’s Visits

On 13th April Smart Eco Park at Panvel invited to the Vatsalya girls and boys. Children were
happy to visit smart Eco Park. They got lots of information about nature, animal, how to save the
water etc. they also organized delicious food for the children.

On 18th March united way of Mumbai organized FOCUS Photography Festival. They invited our 17
children. Children were very happy to attend the photography workshop. They learnt how to click
photo and basic knowledge of photography with theory. Children where enjoyed the workshop.
They learn so many think in this workshop.
The Vatsalya Foundation's Murbad Rural project participated during Sanskruti Arts Festival 2017,
organized by Sanskriti Yuva Pratisthan Trust. Sadrudin Baba Dance group from Murbad in coordination
with The Vatsalya Foundation's Murbad Rural project participated during Sanskruti Arts Festival 2017 a
pioneering initiative of Sanskriti Yuva Pratisthan Trust held from 12th to 15th January at Upvan Lake
Thane. The performance was on 14th January at Virasat stage. The dancers were very excited. SYPT teams
were very happy with the presentation.

Shuddh JAL DAAN A SOCIAL INITIATIVE BY
PAANI KA DOCTOR Aquaguard. Shuddh se
Zayaada Sehat ka Waada. TANDARUST BHARAT
An Aquaguard & Network 18 campaign at
Trident, Nariman Point, Mumbai on 24th
March 2017. The JAL DAAN movement has
garnered over 3 million pledges to donate 5
liters of healthy drinking water to those in
need. The communities across the country
have registered to benefit from the campaign.
Please save water & supply purifier water to all
unprivileged people to live healthy life. We
were very happy to meet film actress Madhuri
Dikshit & Maharashtra Chief Minister
Devendraji Fadnavis. Thank U So Much for JAL
DAAN team to invite us. The Vatsalya
Foundation also initiates the JAL DAAN
Programme at Shahapur Rural Project.

The Vatsalya Foundation children participated in Rediscover the Epic Show “Ramayan” organized by
Create Foundation Raell Padmasee ACE production House. Children learn different dance form i.e.
Thandav, Drama, Dance and English communication skill. Vatsalya children acquired good opportunity to
perform on big stage. Thank you so much Raell Padmasee ACE production to give chance to our children.
Children were very enthusiastic do perform on stage. They enjoyed the play. Children had great fun, they
made new friends and they learnt how to dialogue and behave.

Sneh-Milan – is one such programme that is held with the primary objective of providing an opportunity for
the children to showcase their potential, talents and enable them to build their confidence as they interact
with the society. It’s an attempt to reach out to the masses with a message through the creative medium of
performing and also platform to raise resources for the organisation. On 10 th Feb Vatsalya Foundation
celebrated fundraising and Annual day SNEH MILAN life’s Journey Melody and Music “YE JEEVAN KE RASTEY
…TUJHKO CHALNA HOGA ..” concept and direction Shri. Shurjo Bhattacharya Script and team.
This year first time Vatsalya Foundation organised musical fundraising Event. Total 400 Guest attended. This
Programme was sponsored by BOOK A SMILE and Media Partner SAKAL.

The Vatsalya Foundation has given children the identity through Aadhar Card and Bank Account. This year
the Vatsalya Foundation has opened 11 Children Savings Bank Account at Corporation Bank, Worli Branch
and also successful to get Aadhar Card for 48 children.
