Unit 304 Develop a presentation - Evidence 1

For this unit, I need to show my ability to develop a presentation. I should be able to demonstrate
that I can identify a. purpose, b. content, c. style, d. timing, e. audience for a presentation; select a
communication media that is appropriate to the a. nature of a presentation, b. message, c.
audience; tailor a presentation to fit the timescale and audience’s needs; prepare a presentation
that is a. logically structured, b. summarises the content, c. addresses the brief; take action to
ensure that a presentation adheres to organisational guidelines and policies; develop materials that
support the content of a presentation.

I was asked to create the presentation for our first Strategy and Change Joint Meeting. The purpose
was to make the team meet in one place and the senior managers would be informing the staff of
the Strategy and Change progress of the different projects and also to listen to them what they have
to say.

For this task I had to work with one of the project managers. We identified who the audience will be
and we had to find the proper information that would be communicated to the team. The meeting
was for a full day with a lunch break in between and I had to take the timescale into consideration
and develop enough slides that would be used for the whole meeting and also what the audience
would like to know about the different ongoing projects. I decided to use PowerPoint as a means to
communicate the information. The information would have to be logically structured and make sure
that the presentation adheres to the organisations guidelines.

Below are the slides that I prepared by gathering information from various colleagues working on
the different projects and also feedback from the manager who entrusted me with the task.
