§ The Asia Working Group Board

In recent years, the growth of violence and conflict in Asia has drawn attention worldwide. In as
such, supporting scholars, peace practitioners and policy makers are actively disseminating
knowledge to stakeholders for effective resolution. Currently, conflict resolution research in Asia,
specifically, South Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia is very limited and to date there has been
little collaboration amongst these scholars to create a comprehensive academic
journal to tackle such issues. Thus the creation of the Journal of Asian Conflict Resolution.

This student led, peer-reviewed journal will be facilitated by faculty and will be releasing its first
publication in Spring 2011, bringing together the conflict related academic writings of under-
graduate and graduate students from an array of fields. Articles should focus on (but are not lim-
ited to) conflict, conflict resolution, peacekeeping/peace-building strategies, human rights, war,
prejudice and religion in ancient Asia through modern history.

Students in the fields of conflict resolution, economics, sociology, anthropology, history, interna-
tional relations, political science and international development are greatly encouraged to submit
their articles up to 7500 words for consideration to journalacr@gmail.com, no later than Decem-
ber 1, 2010. All submissions should include a short bio (no longer than 75 words).
