Pastor’s Corner ~
The gospel this weekend gives us a warning AGAINST
SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS. All of us are imperfect, and
we should help each other in our journey to become
better persons. Though we know there are people who
can be more sinful than ourselves, we have no right to
judge anyone as to who is more worthy before God, for
only God can see our hearts and know our true value.
Our PARISH YOUTH AND CONFIRMATION TEAM
will be sponsoring the once-a-month YOUTH MASS
starting this Sunday at 5:30 in the afternoon. We
remind adults and families to support and encourage
our young people to be more involved in the Church,
because the future belongs to them. God has also
equipped them with the grace, like adults, to become
more mature and responsible in their faith.
These two weekends (Oct. 23-24; 30-31) we will have
our signature campaign for the CATHOLIC
LEGISLATIVE NETWORK which will give us a voice to
affect the legislative process in California especially in
favor of life and human dignity. Please be sure to sign
up and return the card to the parish. ONLY THOSE
WITH E-MAIL can sign since the process will work
through the use of e-mail.
All Souls Novena
There will be a Novena of Masses for All Souls in
November beginning on All Souls Day, November
2nd. If you wish to enroll your loved ones, you will find
envelopes in the pews.
A Memorial Book is located in the vestibule if you wish
to write in the name of a deceased family member or
friend. The book and envelopes will be placed upon
the altar during the novena.
World Mission Sunday
On the day of your baptism, you became a missionary,
called by our Lord to share your faith with those around
you and to be part of the Church’s mission to the world.
Today, on World Mission Sunday, we have the
opportunity to be part of the Church’s missionary work in
Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Pacific Islands
through our prayers and support offered to the Society of
the Propagation of the Faith.

New Social Justice Group
An interest group is forming to help parishioners find
employment. Details will be worked out but will cover
all aspects of improving job skills and job search
techniques, with emphasis on face-to-face skills. The

Life & Dignity Sunday
Next Sunday has been designated Life & Dignity
Sunday here in the San Diego diocese. At the request
of Bishop Brom, our parish will be inviting and
encouraging all parishioners with email to register for the
new statewide Catholic Legislative Network (CLN).

registering for the CLN after Mass.
