The fixed CO2 fire fighting systems are usually

used as the central systems for fire extinguishing
in the engine room with the appertaining spaces,
for the cargo holds, and as the local systems for
the protection of the main engine, also for the
smaller spaces and devices, such as paint store
and galley hood. The CO2 extinguishes the fire by
the efect of suffocation, so is the very reliable
extinguishing agent, but also dangerous for life
and health at the same time.

The CO2 high pressure system consistes of the

following essential parts:

- CO2 cylinders, each of 67 lit. volume, charged

with 45 kg of CO2, equiped with quick opening
valves, and connected to the CO2 battery over
the check valves, high pressure hoses and
manifolds; the pressure in the cylinder amounts
from 50 up to 60 bar, depending of the ambient
temperature;
- Main valve equiped with pneumatic cylinder,
and lever for manual activation;
- Zone valves with pneumatic cylinders, and

Visokotlačni CO2 sustavi se sastoje od sljedećih
bitnih dijelova:
- CO2 boce, volumena po 67 lit., punjene po 45 kg
CO2 i opremljene brzootvarajućim ventilima, te
nepovratnim ventilima, visokotlačnim crijevima i
sabirnim cjevovodima povezane u CO2 bateriju;
pritisak u boci se ovisno o temperaturi kreće oko
50 do 60 bar;
- Zonski ventili sa pneumatskim cilindrima i
polugama za ručno aktiviranje;
- Sustav pneumatskog aktiviranja, sa ormarima
opremljenim potrebnom armaturom i uređajima za
vremensku odgodu aktiviranja - što je potrebno
radi pravovremene evakuacije ljudi iz štićenog
prostora;
- Razvodni cjevovodi;
- CO2 mlaznice;
- Signalni uređaji, akustični i optički.
