I. PLANNING
Lesson summary This lesson will focus on students reading abilities from reading the story the first time as whole
and focus: class followed by listening to the story via audio then finally dissecting the story piece by piece
followed by an assessment

Classroom and Each student has a individualized IEP with behavior issues, but 1 girl is efficient in reading while
student factors: the two boys are below reading level for their grades and age.

II. INSTRUCTION
A. Opening
Prior Students previously worked on fluency, phrasing, and punctuation using their critical thinking skills.
knowledge Students will continue to learn key vocabulary and what each punctuation phrase means. Students

III. ASSESSMENT
Summative Students will complete the weekly assessment (Decoding and Formative assessments:

Closure: Students will write a page in journal of what the story means to them and what they would do different
