Date Hours Description of Work/Progress

10/11/18- 8 hours Met every Thursday after school. Planned activities, meetings, and games to run with
11/29-18 members of the club. During meetings, talked about events which pertain a worldwide
scale- such as events which occurred in the Asia-Pacific region. Practiced for the
WorldQuest competition, which is a statewide trivia contest run by the PAAC (Pacific
Asian Affairs Council) organization. Questions were about Japan-America relations,
North Korea, Space Policy, and more.
10/11/18- 12 hours Planned and ran PAAC activity “World of 100”. Included meetings with PAAC high
11/20/18 school director Jason Shon and going to a PAAC camp to participate in the activity
ourselves. Planning included gathering of materials such as cutting 25 wads of
newspaper, printing out country birth certificates and food to be used in the simulation.
Activity was run on November 20th in the Learning Commons with participation from
members of faculty and students.
12/1/18 7 hours WorldQuest competition & PAAC Global Vision Summit. Started at 9:00 am in which
all participants gathered in the UH Campus Center Hall to listen to a keynote speaker
before splitting up into “breakout” sessions which taught us more about nations in
COFA (Compact of Free Association) such as Micronesia, Marshall Islands & Palau.
After two “breakout” sessions, we gathered in the Hall again for the WorldQuest
competition which was run concurrently in Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii. Topics covered
North Korea, Space Policy, Immigrant Policy, World Trade Organization and more.
Summit ended at 4:00 with awards ceremony.
