Relative Valuation of Canara Bank

Instructions

 Sit according to the group assigned to you. Each Group must have

 a Laptop with them.

 Each Group needs to Download the File/Zip file named : GA_1

 The file ( folder ) contains the following :

 Annual reports of the bank for the last 5 years.

 A snapshot (of the bank-see the folder) taken from the Accord
Fintech database has been provided for your initiation.

The Assignment (submission #1) comprises of two parts :

 Part 1: During the 3 Hrs lecture session you have to do the following
calculations AND have to distinctly provide your source (page
number, schedules #, notes etc) in arriving at the values. For
instance, have any provisions for doubtful debt reduced (increased)
the asset quality? did that impact the Book Value?

Calculate :

 EPS (Diluted).EPS Growth rate. How different is it from the

industry average?

 P/E (TTM). PEG (TTM). Is it over or undervalued. Explain.

 P/BV. Limitations for this company.

 ROE and Dupont Analysis. Based on this is this within the industry
limit. Explain.

 Prepare a 10 min presentation (yes !!! a ppt ) of the above 5 issues

and present your suggestions. Rationale and calculation is
important.

 Any outliers in the comparable list of companies?

 Part 2: A research report for the investors needs to be submitted

with the graphs and arguments needed. It should be as
professionally presented as expected from an investment firm. The
candidates MUST follow the format and the language judiciously.

 For Part -2 : The submission (in word doc - Hard Bound )

must reach by 16th August, 2018.
