NAPOLCOM XI conducts orientation on CSOP System to the LCEs and COPs of

Davao Occidental

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) XI in coordination with the


Department of Interior and Local Government Davao Occidental Provincial Office
conducted an orientation on the implementation of the Community and Service
Oriented Policing (CSOP) System to all Local Chief Executives and Chief of Police in
the Province of Davao Occidental last July 04, 2018 at Seda Abreeza Hotel Davao
City.

The application of the system is part of the initiatives of NAPOLCOM in empowering


the Philippine National Police (PNP) to perform its role as a community and
service-oriented agency. It has been adopted as community-oriented policing and
crime prevention strategy in the country including the strengthening of local
government capability which aimed to achieve effective delivery basic services in
the country. This has been undertaken through the consistent collaboration and
cooperation between the local executives, law enforcement agencies, and its
citizenry.

The activity was attended by the NAPOLCOM Commissioner Zenonida F. Brosas,


Staff Service Chief CPCS Donna Lynn Caparas, Regional Director of NAPOLCOM XI
Ma. Theresa Tuburan-Pacudan, Provincial Director of DILG Davao Occidental Debie
T. Torres, and PNP Provincial Director Thor Valiente Cuyos. Present also were the
Municipal Mayor Virginia Cawa of Sarangani and Mayor Rudy Mariscal of Santa
Maria, Local Chief Executives representatives of Don Marcelino, Jose Abad Santos,
and Malita; Chief of Police of the 5 municipalities and other police personnel.

It was an avenue not only to discuss thoroughly the implementation of the program
but also to address various concerns towards peace and order operations in their
municipalities. Further, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was facilitated. It is
hoped that the constant collaboration of this LCEs, PNP, and the citizenry will
preserve the genuine commitment of promoting peace.
