Dear Members,
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and A Happy New Year.
I want to thank all our Board and Committee Members for your ongoing work and support to this club, and I hope
Club Officers everyone will continue to serve in the new year.
Mike Caravakis The Annual Children’s Christmas Party was lots of fun and the club was filled with happy young children and their
President families. I want to again thank Mark Chory, Vinny Digilio and the entire team for making kids smile.
I want to also thank Santa for making a quick stop from his busy schedule. What a great guy!

The Club’s Annual 50/50 Raffle drawing was held on Dec. 29th at 7:30pm. VP Najm welcomed all attendees and
Ladies Auxiliary thanked the co-chairs Billy Asmar and Eddy Essa for a job well done. In turn, Club Treasurer Billy Asmar
Officers thanked everyone for their support, those who purchased and/or helped sell out all 300 tickets. He specially
thanked those who sold the highest number of tickets, with the most sold by Josephine Nassif.

Vice President 29th Annual Children Christmas Party
Mark Chory and Vin DiGilio deserve a great big thank you along with their helper for co-chairing the successful
Stacey Glynn Children’s Christmas Party this year. 26 children and ~35 adults attended the party and got to meet the special
Secretary guest Santa Claus as he passed out presents. Also, special thanks to Frank Thomas who paid a visit during
Thanksgiving, for his generosity to help fund the event over the years and others who contributed and to the
Randa Antous parents who helped with this year’s arts and crafts. Thanks again.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. As we enter 2019 let us try to
start the year on a positive note, after all we have the rest of the year to deal with the negative. I have to keep this column
short as there is much to include in this issue.
First, a reminder to all LAC Newsletter advertisers – please be sure to send in your payments ($125) for the 2019 editions,
also remember to list any changes in your ads so they can be included in future issues.
Second, your Club Officers will be elected at this meeting. Anyone interested in running for an office see any Club officer or
Board Member immediately. Remember – Directors are appointed by elected officers and not elected by a vote. Again, if
interested see an Officer or Director as soon as possible.
Finally, if any member is interested in working on the LAC Newsletter please see Ghassan and Betty Najm, or Lou Najamy.

Thank you to Robin Haddad and her helpers for decorating the club for Christmas this year.
Welcome to our newest member sworn in at our December meeting, he is Adel Assal of Wappingers Fall, N.Y. He is a
retired Teacher and recently remarried. He is enthused with his membership and eagerly await to take part in many of our
club functions. Let’s welcome him with opened arms as is our Lebanese way.
Congratulations to Alyssa Najm and Hannah Asmar on their engagement to John Kritzman and Eric Jackling on Dec. 8th
and Jan. 1st respectively. Congratulations to their parents Ghassan and Betty Najm and Billy and Hiam Asmar respectively.

Dinners in support of kitchen improvements, key Club
Maintenance and occasional Friday Night dinners to
name a few could not be possible. They are Lou Scalzo
and Lou Najamy (or Lou to the power of 2). If you have
not done so lately, you should come down for Pasta
Dinners and the biweekly meetings, you will get to see
them up close and in action. They are true pleasure to
have in our membership and great examples as many
others do in using their talents and give of their time to
support our club. Thank you again for all that you do!

Please keep in your prayers our ill members and/or their family members and wishing them speedy recovery. Notify Pres.

We would like to take a moment and remember all those in our membership and the Ladies Auxiliary or their immediate
family members who are no longer with us and passed into eternal life this past year, especially:

Jacqueline Jabbour Matta. Jeannette Beylouni, Evelyn Ellis and Marion Antous Shaker

LADIES AUXILIARY NEWS by Pres. Betty Najm.

Hope you all enjoyed the Holidays with your families and friends! Happy New Year!

Thank you to the Ladies Auxiliary Officers, Committee Chairs and Members, and to all the ladies that gave of their time,
and all those who supported our events throughout the year.

Special Thank you to Stacey Hardway, the Telephone chairperson and all her Captains for a job well done this last year.
Stacey would like to step down as chairperson in January 2019. Please let me know if a member is interested in taking this
post, as soon as possible.

The next club meeting will be Sunday, Jan 27, 2019 at 3pm followed by a dinner upstairs prepared by John Hanna.

The Holiday Luncheon for the Ladies will be at the Black Angus on Sat. Jan 12 from
12 noon - 4 pm. The price is $30 which includes salad, 3 entrée choices, 2 dessert choices, soft drinks, coffee and/or tea plus
tax and tip! The three entrée selections are:
1. Filet Mignon Beef Tips sautéed with asparagus in a brandy peppercorn cream sauce,
served over saffron risotto
2. Chicken Marsala - tenderloins sautéed with mushrooms and marsala wine,
served with mashed potatoes & asparagus
3. Crabmeat Stuffed Cod - finished with hollandaise sauce, served with
Mash potatoes & asparagus

At the meeting in December, it was discussed to have a Pot Luck Social on a Sunday in February and to have a presentation
about the history of Lebanon

An Exploratory Committee was created by several Ladies to try and see if we could have an American band perform as a
fundraiser in the near future. Any member interested in joining this committee please contact Lisa Antous.
