2. Highest diploma (notarized photocopy). If applicants are university students or already employed,
they shall also provide studying certificates or employment documents. Documents in languages

notarized translations in Chinese or English.
4. A study or research plan in Chinese or in English (no less than 800 words). Please expatiate on the
major or research field you would like to study at DUT.

2. Applicants are required to log in to the CSC Online Application System for Study in China,
fill in the application information online, and submit and print the "Application Form for
Chinese Government Scholarship" online;
3. The applicant shall prepare the corresponding materials according to the following
"Application Materials" list and submit it to the University for Application within the
stipulated time.
Note: CSC accepts only applications for recommending candidates from colleges and
universities that take independent admission programs, and does not accept individual
applications directly from students. The CSC Enrollment in China Application Form for Online
Enrollment in China shall be directly consulted and obtained from the institutions concerned
(People's University No. 10002).
3. Learn transcripts. Documents in languages other than English and Chinese must be
notarized translations in Chinese or English;
4. Study in China and study plan (not less than 800 words) written in Chinese or English;
6. Students applying for music major must submit the CD-ROM of their own work. Students
applying for art major should provide their own two sketchbooks, two color paintings and
two other works of CD-ROM;
7. "Alien Physical Examination Form" copy (the original self-preservation), the form by the
Chinese Health and Quarantine departments unified printing, to be completed in
English. Applicants should be strictly in accordance with the "foreigner physical examination
form" in the items required for inspection. Lack of items, not affixed with my own photos or
photos without stitching, physicians and hospitals signed and sealed "Physical examination
of foreigners" invalid. In view of the inspection results valid for 6 months, please determine
the applicant according to the time of my physical examination;
8. If you have obtained the HSK report, please also attach the application materials.
Note: Please order all the application materials in the above order in the upper left corner (in
duplicate). Application Materials The institutions undertaking this scholarship program will
be sent to the CSC by April 30, and all application materials will not be refunded.
2. Applicants admitted to colleges and universities, subject to the scrutiny of the CSC, can
obtain scholarship from the Chinese government to support their study in China;
3. Each scholarship recipient can only get one grant from the Chinese government
scholarship program. For Scholarship applicants who are accepted by more than one
university at the same time, CSC reserves only the scholarship for one school.
4. The CSC will send the Letter of Acceptance and the Application for Visa Application for
Study in China to China (JW201) to the admission institutions by the end of June, and will
then pass the above documents to the students themselves.
5. After the scholarship winners come to China, they can not change the admission
institutions; in principle, they can not change the study major and the study period;
6. Can not be admitted to China by the duration of the scholarship, scholarship eligibility will
not be retained.

l For Chinese Government Scholarship (Doctoral Program Type A1 and Master Program Type
A), applicants must apply at both China Scholarship Council (CSC) (http://laihua.csc.edu.cn)
and Study@SJTU (http://isc.sjtu.edu.cn). Applicants are also encouraged to apply to China
Scholarship Council through recommendations from Chinese Embassies, or relevant
organizations in the home countries of the applicants between November and April (varies
for different countries).

Application Procedures
To complete the application for USTC "Chinese Government Scholarship – University
Postgraduate Program", please make sure you finish each of the following steps as
required and before the specific time.
After logging, please choose Type B and fill in 10358 as agency code for USTC.
After filling in the application form online, applicants must click the "submit" button and
print out application form in the application system.
Sign and put a recent photo on the application form.
Scan the application form and upload it later on USTC application system.
Note:
1. Please fill in the exact "Family name", "First name" and passport number as shown on
your passport, and make sure the email address and "present contact address" (postal
address for admission documents) correct and valid.
2. If choose to learn Chinese language prior to major study, please fill in the “duration of
elementary Chinese study” as 2018-9-1 to 2019-7-15 and “duration of major study” as
2019-9-1 to 2022-7-15 (for instance of 3-year program). If choose English-taught
program, please fill in the “duration of major study” as 2018-9-1 to 2021-7-15 (for instance
of 3-year program).
3. Please make sure you have put your photo on and sign the application form, otherwise it
will be INVALID.
4. Once you have downloaded the complete form, please DO NOT retrieve your application
in CSC system without our permission, otherwise we will be unable to process your
application further.
1. Create your online application ID with a valid email account and input a password of your
own. You will receive a confirmation email.
2. Log on your application ID and fill in all the information and upload required documents.
The online application can be accessed and edited as many times as you like before the
deadline of application (March 15, 2018). Your information will be automatically saved
once you click "NEXT" when you finish each step.
3. Submit your application form by clicking "Confirm and Submit" upon completion. Note that
once your application pass "file review", your information CANNOT be changed.
4. You can click "Status" in the Quick Links to check your application status.
Application materials

2. Photocopy of passport (ordinary passport with validity of at least 1 year).
3. A study or research proposal (no less than 800 words).

5. Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (with phone
number and email address).
6. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (download in the attachment below).
7. Applicants for programs instructed in Chinese but do not apply for one-year Chinese
language courses, must provide the photocopy of HSK certificate (at least level 4) or
other proof of their Chinese language proficiency; applicants for programs instructed in
English must provide the photocopy of valid IELTS or TOFEL result or other proof of their
English proficiency (except those whose mother tongue is English).
8. Photocopy of degree certificate and academic transcript for both Bachelor’s Degree and
Master’s Degree (if have) notarized by Ministry of Education or equivalent authority in
your country.
If applicants are university students, they must provide official documents showing their status as
university students and stating clearly when they will obtain the degree certificate;
If applicants already graduated but have not yet obtained the degree certificate, they must
provide official documents explaining the reasons and stating clearly when they will obtain the
degree certificate;
If applicants are already employed, they must provide official documents showing their status as
on-post employees and permission of release.
※ Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized
translations in Chinese or English.
