The document is an abstract for a study on serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT) and serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase (SGPT) levels in adults based on gender and central obesity. The study used a cross-sectional design and purposive sampling to examine 40 adult subjects meeting the criteria. The results showed that 6 (30%) of adult males had high SGOT levels and 8 (40%) had high SGPT levels, while 4 (20%) of adult females had high SGOT levels and 5 (25%) had high SGPT levels. The results indicate that high SGOT and SGPT levels were more common in men with central obesity.

Transaminase (SGOT) and Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase (SGPT) level on Adult based on Gender Stratification and Central Obesity. (Supervised by Mutmainnah Abbas, S.Si., M.Sc and Prof. Dr. Dr. H.M Rusli Ngatimin., MPH)
Obesity is define as a condition with abnormal or over fat accumulation in
adipose tissues so it can damage our health. Another tife of obesity is that central obesity that is known from waist size based on Asian Pasific Criteion on male > 90cm and Female 80 cm. One of physiological condition on central obesity is that the increase of SGOT and SGPT caused by fat on hepar. This study is descriptive research with Cross Sectional Study design with purposive sampling technique. The numbers of subject of this research were 40 samples that met the criteria of inclusion subject of the research. This research aimed to determine the description of SGOP and SGPT level on adult with central obesity. The results of this study showed that as many as 20 samples of SGOT and SGPT were obtained for adult males, 6 (30%) high SGOT levels and 8 (40%) high SGPT levels were obtained. Whereas, in adult women, there were 4 (20%) high SGOT levels and 5 (25%) high SGPT levels. The results showed that high levels of SGOT and SGPT were found in men.
