    Vector Foiling

    styles + actions for Illustrator

    1. Open the “Foil Styles” file for you illustrator


    version (RGB or CMYK, depending on what you need)

    2. Load the “Foil Vectorize.aia” actions file


    (window > actions > menu > load actions)

    3. Paste or create graphics or text

    4. Open the graphic styles palette (Window> Graphic


    Styles)

    5. apply a style that you like (if you move the object,
    the texture will change, you can play with it)

    6. then run the action “rasterize”


    (RGB or CMYK, respectively)

    7. the first time you will have to configure and save
    Trace preset. do not worry, it’s very simple, look at
    the picture:

    it opens in the window > image


    trace

    just set all the values as in the


    picture, and then save the preset
    with the name, such as “Foil Trace”.

    8. then click Expand

    9. For a realistic overlay change


    the Blending mode of the object to
    Multiply.

    10. then apply one of Press Stamp styles


    (small/medium/big)
