In the summer of 1946, the late Mr. Roberto T. Tirona, Assistant Principal of Cavite High School in Cavite City, proposed the idea of creating a junior
high school at Kawit, Cavite, to his immediate superior, Mr. Palaypay, as well as to Mr. Ramon Lorenzo, Division Superintendent of schools at the
time. This was in view of the ever increasing enrollment of students coming from the town of Kawit, Bacoor, Imus, Noveleta, Dasmariňas and Silang,
Cavite, which the Cavite High School could hardly absorb, and in the light of the promise given to him by late Senator Emiliano Tria Tirona, that the
senator would allocate his Pork Barrel Fund of Php 500,000.00 for the construction of the school building and for the payment of the school site,
once the proposal was approved.

Eventually the Kawit Junior High School, with a faculty of twenty-nine teachers and a student population of one thousand two hundred students was
temporarily opened in June 1946 in the convent of Kawit parish Church, pending the construction of the permanent building in a 3.5 hectare lot in
Gahak, Kawit, Cavite.

In 1948, the Kawit Junior High School became a full-pledged high school and was renamed Kawit High School. It turned outs its first graduates in
1949.

On April 5, 1950, the classes of Kawit High School were transferred into its new site and building at Gahak, Kawit, Cavite. It was renamed Emiliano
Tria Tirona Memorial High School in honor of its benefactor, the late Senator Tirona.

In 1962, The Emiliano Tria Tirona High School was converted into a National high school, largely through the effort of then Congressman Justiano
Montano and the then school principal, Mr. Guillermo P. Florencio.

Mr. Roberto T. Tirona (1947-1951), Mr. Guillermo P. Florencio (1951-1970), Mrs. Viola Samonte (1970-1971), Miss Patricia R. Santulan (1971-
1973), Mrs. Cerelina D. Victa (1973-1976), Mr. Benjamin B. Benita V. Jamir (1980-1990), Mr. Roman M. Salazar (1990-1995), Dr. Nelda G. Dator

(2011-Present) were the following school principals who are responsible for the historical growth of the high school.

Being a Tironian is a pleasure which may did not realize yet. If we just know how to give worth to each day spent in high school, not for the purpose
of seeing life the way we have to, then we can be a proud Tironian.
