INSTALLATION OF PC1D VERSION 5

The files on this diskette can be copied into any directory on your hard
drive. We recommend that you copy the folder PC1D5 from the
diskette to your hard drive in its entirety. This version of PC1D requires
Windows95, 98, or NT.

Create a Windows icon for starting PC1D by using the Taskbar Manager
in Windows. You can use the Browse feature to locate the PC1D.EXE
program on your disk. The icon has been defined by the program.

PC1D version 5 requires an 80386 or higher microprocessor, and

numeric coprocessor capability (usually built-in to 80486 and all
Pentium processors). The program can take advantage of any display,
mouse, printer and/or plotter supported by Windows. The program can
be installed and run over a local-area network.

Once you are able to start the program, you can take advantage of the
on-screen Help documentation to guide you. If you experience
difficulty with the Help files, make sure that the file PC1D.HLP is on
your disk in the same subdirectory folder with PC1D.EXE.

Several sample problems are included, as are data files for various
materials, and three standard solar spectrums.

After you have become more familiar with the program, you will want
to create separate subdirectories for your data and insert pointers to
these directories in the Options|File Locations menu of PC1D.

If you are unable to install and start PC1D, registered licensees can get
help via e-mail at pc1d@unsw.edu.au or by faxing your request to
+61-2-9662-4240.
