I. OBJECTIVES OF PRACTICE
To observe the generation of the induced AC electromotive force when forming
the field by Permanent Magnets and moving the conductor of Coil within the
magnetic field quickly. And, to understand factors related to the strength of
induced electromotive force through training.

II. APPRAISAL QUESTIONS
1. For 6 and 7 in the experimental process, is the current direction of
electromotive force induced to the coil consistent with the Right-Hand Rule?
If so, explain the reason with a drawing.

The Right-Hand Rule

The Right-Hand Rule shows the direction of the current induced to

the coil. From the right-hand rule, it is observed that the three (magnetic
force, moving charge and magnetic field line) are perpendicular with one
another. Relating to the experiment, the current direction of EMF is
consistent with the Right-Hand Rule on the direction (clockwise or counter-
clockwise) applied and to the induced voltage.

2. For 6, 7 and 8 in the experimental process, if values of induced current are

different, explain the reason for that.
The direction of the rotor determines the polarity of the induced
voltage and the number of times the rotor is turned at a certain velocity
determines the strength of the induced voltage.

3. For 9 in the experimental process explain the relation between the velocity
of a rotor and the strength of induced electromotive force.

The velocity of the rotor is directly proportional to the strength of

induced electromotive force. Meaning to say, the strength of the induced
electromotive force is depended to the speed of the rotor; the faster it moves,
the stronger the induced electromotive force being produced.
III. CONCLUSION
The objective of the experiment is to observe the generation of the induced
AC electromotive force and the effect of moving the conductor of coil in a fast
manner. With the help of the right-hand rule, it was identified that the direction
of the rotor being turned to determines the polarity of the induced voltage,
counter-clockwise turn would yield a positive voltage and vice versa. If the result
turned out differently, it would mean that the polarity of the rotor was switched.
Lastly, the number of turns in a certain velocity determines the strength of the
induced voltage. From the results, it can be concluded that the objective was
satisfied.
