OURVILLAGE
Your Monthly Higher Kinnerton Community Newsletter

Welcome!
A Happy New Year to all our readers and welcome to our new BIGGER eight page monthly Our Village Newsletter!
In recent months the newsletter team found themselves in the position of having too much news to fit into too small a
newsletter and not enough space for some of the photos that had been provided by contributors.
Higher Kinnerton Community Council took the decision to fund a new bigger newsletter which would include all our village
news and would also give us the opportunity to welcome new local businesses to advertise with us.
With the extra space now available we welcome your contributions on village matters and would also love to include your
photos of village life. Remember, not everyone is on Facebook many of the fantastic photos you post on there don’t get
seen.
So, if you have something to share with all the community, please send your contribution to
newsletter@higherkinnerton.org.uk Contributions need to be submitted by the 20th of the month.

Village Open Event

On Saturday 12th January, the Community Council will be holding an open event in the Village Hall from 10.00am–12.00pm
where members of the village plan steering group will be available to talk to you about the village plan and answer any
questions you may have.
The plan document will also be able to be viewed online and we will publish a link where you can find it shortly.
As well as the Village Plan document we will be launching the NEW Higher Kinnerton website with new opportunities for
village organisations, local businesses and residents. If you want to find out more how the website can help you reach a
wider audience then we would encourage you to come along.
Through the village survey many residents indicated they would be interested to be part of a volunteer group to help with
tasks in and around the village.
The list of tasks is an open one and we welcome everyone’s suggestions. Just a few ideas to start with:
• We will need help on some maintenance tasks in Park Avenue play area as well as creating a wildlife area.
• Bennett’s Lane corner is an area we wish to improve and make it a centre of the village.
• We need volunteers to help the Community Council plan and organise the 2019 village events as well as assistance
on integrating the Village plan into the Community Council long term plan.
• Can you contribute a regular article to the newsletter? We now have an eight page newsletter so additional contribu-
tions are welcome.
• There were other suggestions too numerous to mention in this edition but we want to hear from you what you think
you can help with.

The exhibition features original models, puppets,
