everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

LB - For long ago the Lord had said to Israel: I have loved you, O my people, with an
everlasting love; with loving-kindness I have drawn you to me.

Note to the educator

Lovingkindness is a characteristic of a Christian educator. There is little or no professional
Y

development on love in the classroom unfortunately. Why not? Everyone knows that love
always wins, that love conquers all, so why aren’t we taught about loving our students and
colleagues more? We can be very influential in the dialogue of love and in the modeling of love
because He loved us first. Committing to loving our students and colleagues is a Christian
responsibility. Begin by choosing three specific people that you are going to go out of your way
A

to love on this year. Try one student, one colleague and one administrator or paraprofessional.
Don’t tell them what you are doing, but be intentional about displaying love for them. Do it for
no other reason, but to display the love of our Lord upon them with random acts of kindness
throughout the rest of the school year.
