MANDATORY TDC for SAIL WR400

Class 1: SAIL WR400 Class 1 (upto 30mm thickness) :


 Rolling tolerance: BSEN 10029: 2010 class A & class N (upto 2m wide plate)*
 Supply condition: Quenched + Tempered (optional); without shot blasting/primer
 Mech. Test: Hardness test (HBN) only.
 Edge condition :
o Machine trimmed / Gas cut
 Steel will be Vacuum Degassed for all plates (Optional for lower thickness).
 Insp. Agency: RSP
 Surface as per EN 10163 class A sub class 3.
 Test certificate: As per EN 10204/3.1

Class 2: SAIL WR400 Class 2 (upto 30mm thickness) :


 Rolling tolerance: BSEN 10029: 2010 class A & class N (upto 2m wide plate)*
 Supply condition: Quenched + Tempered (optional); without shot blasting/primer
 Mech. Test: Hardness test (HBN) + Tensile test + Impact test at (-) 20 deg. C.
 Edge condition :
o Machine trimmed / Gas cut
 Steel will be Vacuum Degassed for all plates (Optional for lower thickness).
 Surface as per EN 10163 class B sub class 2.
 Insp. Agency: RSP
 Test certificate: As per EN 10204/3.1
* For wider plates flatness tolerances as per ASTM A20M (Table 4) for both Class 1 and
Class 2.

Mechanical Properties:

1. Hardness (Both Class 1 & Class 2): 360-450 BHN (after surface grinding of 2-3mm)

2. Tensile Properties (For Class 2): UTS: 1150MPa (min); Elongation: 8% (min) for < 20mm;
6% (min) > 20mm

3. Charpy V notch Impact (For Class 2): 18 Joules at (-) 20 °C (longitudinal)

Note: For Class 2, Tensile and Charpy V Notch test shall be done @ 1 sample per thickness per
heat.
