the Yawanawá people.

A gathering to exchanges knowledge, strengthening our union, to celebrate the  joy

of this amazing people, and to feel in the heart the connections with the spirits of the
forest. A dive dip in the healing practices of the Yawanawá, herbal baths, kapum,
spiritual works with the medicines of the uni (ayahuasca) and the rume (rapé)

Hushahu Yawanawa
First Yawanawá woman, and  her sister, underwent a shamanic
initiation, previously only allowed to the old men and men.
She is recognized as a shaman by her people, bringing a history of
life that profoundly marked the history of yawanawá women,
opening paths and transformations, regarding the place of women
in their society.
Hushahu has dedicated his life to spirituality, valuing the
traditional ancestral knowledge of the Yawanawá people, their
songs, stories, arts and the work of women.

 what else do i need to know from the
village?

The meals offered by the village to the visitors are simple. Composed generally
of manioc, roots in general, beans, flour, fruits.  Meat and fish, it will depend the
climatic conditions.
If you have a specific preference or want more variety, the traveler may carry
other food items in your luggage;
The village offers drinking water, but we recommend that you bring chlorine
tablets to drinking water, there are people with sensitive digestive system.
The baths can be in the Igarapés, but there are collective showers, so we wear
swimwear (swimsuits, bikinis and swimwear). Give preference to soaps,
shampoos and biodegradable vegetable-based products that can be found in
specialty stores;
The overnight stays in the village are held in a campsite reserved for visitors.
However there is a need to take tent, and or hammock, for convenience there is
no need for musketeers to use during your stay. Do not forget to bring a blanket,
warmer clothes and / or sleeping bag (if you prefer), as the nights can be cooler.

As an ecological and environmental and social education for the village itself,
since there is no public garbage collection all garbage generated by the
participant is his responsibility, we can not degrade the village environment
and we have to set an example for the villagers themselves , as a way of
collaborating on this delicate subject for them.
