Scope of VT

• Ratio
• Burden
• Voltage Withstand
• Polarity Check
(downstream)
• Ratio
(for non-conventional VT’s)

VT Ratio
• Measures VT Ratio and
Polarity
• Injection on VT Primary
Side
• Measure VT Secondary
Voltage (at V1AC Input)

Vtest:
• Vtest = Vprim if <= 2kV
• Vtest = 2kV if Vprim >
2kV

VT Burden
• Measures VT
Burden via AC
injection into the
load (up to 130V)
• Inject up to 130V at
load
• Measure current
IAC Input flowing into burden
6A Output V1AC Input (at IAC Input) and
voltage at the
burden (at V1AC
Input)

*Selecting the ‘Manual Input’ to enter the
value for Isec manually (if Isec was
measured with an external current clamp
or meter instead of via IAC)

Isec Options:
1. Connect Isec to IAC Input and let
CPC100 measure it
2. Via current clamp connection to IAC Auto/Man Test
(recommended) or V2AC input procedures similar to
3. Select ‘Manual input’ and enter Isec VTRatio
manually (for reading from external
current clamp not connected to CPC

Voltage Withstand
• Measure the Voltage
Withstand Capability of
the VT secondary
winding and secondary
wiring
• Inject up to 2kV
between VT’s primary
and secondary winding
2kV Output • Measures the max
current between
primary and secondary
winding during the test
interval

Polarity Check

• Check downstream terminal connections for correct

polarity
• Inject a special ‘saw-tooth’ signal with different steepness
for rising and falling slopes
• Use a special polarity checker ‘CPOL’ to detect the slope
and assess polarity

TEST SETTINGS:
Range: Select range of all
available outputs
Ampl: Amplitude of polarity
check output signal
Intermittent: Define pulse duty
cycle with Ton and Toff. If not
selected, then the output signal is
applied continuously
