GEOMETRIC IMPROVEMENTS
MO9815187: MD 190 at Braeburn Parkway_
WHAT: MD 190 - Reduction of the speed limit from 45 to 35 MPH from I 495 (Capital
Beltway) to Brookside Drive. This will reduce vehicle speeds and provide
a more consistent speed limit throughout the corridor.
Braeburn Parkway - Installation of a traffic signal for exclusive left turns onto
Braeburn Pkwy. MDOT SHA has determined that adding a mainline signal
here is the safest option for left-turning vehicles.
Pyle Road - Installation of pedestrian signals on eastbound and westbound
MD 190 at the existing marked pedestrian crossing. This improvement will
provide a safer road crossing for pedestrians. Installation of concrete curb to
channelize left turn movement from MD 190 onto Braeburn Parkway. Installation
of pedestrian signals on eastbound and westbound MD 190 at the existing marked
pedestrian crossing.
WHY: Improve traffic operations for motorists and enhancing pedestrian safety within
