Introduction to Digital Photogrammetry

(August 22 - 26, 2016)

In the past few decades, the rapid growth of

Remote Sensing by Aero-Space technology has
brought about a paradigm shift in the area of utility
services, infrastructure planning, urban studies,
large scale mapping, photogrammetry, GPS, GIS,
DEM generation, location-based services and
mitigation planning in the event of disaster. The
advent of Digital Photogrammetry has rapidly
transformed the ability to extract 2D & 3D spatial
information. The unique advantages of Digital
Photogrammetry in terms of precision and
accuracy offer opportunities for automation of
DEM/DTM and integration of images acquired on
a multi-platform and multi-sensor basis. DEM
Aerial Acquisition
Aerial Services and Digital Mapping (AS&DM) Area of NRSC acquires spatial information using
latest airborne sensor systems like Large Format Digital Camera (LFDC), Light Detection and
Ranging (LiDAR) sensors, Airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASAR), and Hyper spectral
Imaging systems (under special project). AS&DM provides services like topographical maps
and GIS data bases for various applications like utility mapping for planning, disaster
applications from airborne/high resolution satellite data.
