Preface
International Symposium on Frontier of Applied Physics is organized annually by Research Center for
Physics-Indonesian Institute of Sciences. The 3rd ISFAP 2017 conference is part of Indonesian Science
Expo 2017 to commemorate 50th year anniversary of Indonesian Institute of Sciences. The
conference theme is “Toward Innovation and Global Collaboration”.
The third ISFAP cover basic and applied research in the fields of physics, such as optics, photonics,
optoelectronics, magnetic materials, materials for energy, advanced materials, nanotechnology, high
temperature materials, coatings, advanced characterization of materials, and earth physics.
ISFAP 2017 was held in Jakarta on October 23 - 24, 2017 and more than 60 researchers presented
their work in the conference. The programme included leading talks from Prof. Ohashi Naoki from
Research Center for Functional Materials-National Institute for Material Science (Japan), Prof.
Nishimura Toshiyuki from Structural Non-Oxide Ceramics Group-National Institute for Material
