RE: KAITLYN MEADOR have had the pleasure of coaching junior boys basketball with Kaitlyn Meador during and after her student teaching at St. Thomas Aquinas School. St. Thomas Aquinas School is a grade 6-9 middle school. Kaitlyn taught Grade 7 Math and Science, but helped coach the grade 6-8 junior basketball team past her student teaching end date. Kaitlyn attended 7 am practice once a week, ‘games and tournaments with the team Kaitlyn is a conscientious and enthusiastic teacher and coach. She displays self-confidence and warmth when working with teachers and students. As a coach, she was encouraging and professional. She was able to provide constructive criticism to help all the players improve and adapted drills when necessary. She brought strong background knowledge as a co-coach through helping to develop plays and plan engaging practices, encouraging the boys to develop their skills throughout the season. Kaitlyn’s approach to coaching was inclusive and she always encouraged the athletes to support each other on and off the court. Her positive rapport with the students created an atmosphere conducive to skill development and positive team building Kaitlyn was very receptive to suggestions regarding coaching strategies and behavior ‘management. She was comfortable taking a leadership role within the team when necessary and communicated in a clear and concise manner with players, parents and myself. She was very well organized and able to adapt to new situations as they arose within practices and games, Kaitlyn would be an asset to any staff and I highly recommend her because she is dedicated to building relationships with her students and improving the school community.
