Notice SIMILARITIES:
1. Characterization- What common qualities do the characters
share? Pay attention to protagonists and antagonists traits
using FASTR and Words of the Wiser signposts.
2. Theme - How does each author of both texts convey a similar
theme (a life lesson that can be applied to everyone, in
general) or central message?
Notice DIFFERENCES:
1. Plot- Describe how the plot is different in each text: setting,
conflict, climax, and resolution. Use your plot map to recall
the sequence of events in each story.
2. Summary- Write a 20-word GIST of each selection. Include
only main points and ideas about the text in B-M-E order.
