Translation

A monument to God the Artist, put into a letter.

I summon thee, Aképhalos, the Creator of earth and of heaven, the
Creator of night and of day, thee the Creator of light and of darkness.
Thou art Osorónnōphris, unseen even by the watchmen; thou art Íabas; thou art
Jápōs; thou hast discerned the righteous and the unrighteous; thou shaped
female and male; thou taught seed and fruit; thou shaped
mankind to love each other and to hate each other. I am
Moses, your prophet, to whom thou granted thy mysteries, the
consecrations of Israel; thou taught moist and dry and all
growth. Obey me: I am an angel of the Pháprō
Osorónnōphris, that is thy true name,
passed down by the prophets of Israel. Obey me: argalarga
thiaō, rheibet, athelebersēth, argablatha, abeu, eben, phi,
khitason, iblargathiaō, obey me and ward off the
spirit here. I invoke thee, who art in the exhausted breath,
wondrous and invisible god: arogogorobraō, sokhou, modoriō,
phalarkhaō, ooo, ape, Aképhalos, rid one from the
spirit attached to him. Rhoubriaō, mariōdam, balbnabiaōth,
assalōnai, aphniaō, i, thōlēth, abrasax, aēoōy, mighty
Aképhalos, rid one from that spirit attached to him.
Ma, barraiō, iōēl, kotha, athorēbalō, abraōth,
rid one. Aōth, abaōth, basym, isak, sabaōth,
iaō: this is the lord of gods; this is the lord of
princes; this is he whom the winds fear; this is the
cause of the voice dripping forth on its own; lord of all; king;
master; servant; save the soul; ieou, pur, iou, pur, iaōt, iaēō,
ioou, abrasax, sabriam, oo, uu, eu, oo, yy, adōnaie, ēde, edy,
angel of the god, anlala, lai, gaia, apa, diakhanna, khoryn,
I am Aképhalos, the Headless Dæmon, in my feet there is sight;
mighty the fire undying; I am the truth, who hateth that
a dick move¹ is due among the cosmos; I am the lightning and
thunder; I am the one whose juices fell to the earth in a storm
so that it might flourish; I am the ever-burning mouth; I
am the begetter and the begotten; I am the grace of the Æon;
my name is a serpent wrapped around a heart. Emerge and follow.
The enactment of the aforementioned rite. Write the names
on a fresh sheet of paper and pass it across thyself from temple to temple,
greet thyself turning towards the north by the six names,
say: Subject unto me all of the spirits, so that they all shall be my subjects,
every spirit of air and of æther and over the earth and under the earth and
of land and of water and every outcast and scourge of god, all obedient unto me.
And the spirits shall be unto thee all subjects. It is quite the
useful little critter.

—
^1 αδικηματα lit. “misdeeds, wrongdoings, offences, iniquities”;
the singular αδικημα (adikēma) struck me as similar to the English
“a dick move” in both sound and meaning, which I found too amusing
to pass up.
