My learning from the film -

In the film “Eye of the Beholder” all the five characters got different perceptions about
Micheal Gerard and how they differed according to the behavior of Mr. Gerard and the
situations created. This film “Eye of the Beholder” teaches the following.

 This film directs us that one should not take snap judgments as a hurried and impetuous
decisions leads to wrong perception as taken by Bartender in the movie.

 One should not do a wrong projection as done by Cab driver just by looking to Micheal’s
attire and the bulge under coat and described him as Hood and a gangster.

 A preconceived opinion that is not based on actual experience always leads to a wrong
perception. Building owner and Cab driver are the example in this movie.

 There should not be a over preoccupation with perception as shown by Mr. Gerard’s
mother and he himself.

 There should not be a lack of appreciation when it comes to efforts of others. Micheal in
this case didn’t appreciated the efforts of his mother who made breakfast for him every
morning.

 One should not have a limited perspective as in this movie all the characters have.

 One should be cautious judging other people. People make an opinion and hear and see
only those things which reinforce this opinion.

 There must be open communication with clear context of meaning between two or
among people.

 In this report I have written the Conclusion of the topic based on our learning from the
film.
