PART OF SGI STATE PARK TO OPEN MARCH 1ST. Parts of Dr. Julian Bruce
State Park to open March 1, 2019, following storm damage repairs
according to the Park Ranger. Both boat ramps, kayak rentals, group
camping, primitive camping and the family campground will open.
Remaining closed are the two large beach use areas, the East Slough
Overlook Trail, and the East End Special Use Area until additional repairs
are made. The park will be holding a shoreline cleanup as soon as the
roads are repaired according to the ranger.

Attendance numbered 303 at last Saturday morning’s historical program
“Dog Island Shipwrecks” presented by Senior Archaeologist, Ivan
Mollema, of the State of Florida Underwater Archaeology Department.
Many thanks and accolades go out to the volunteer staff at the
Carrabelle History Museum for bringing this exciting and interesting
presentation to the Carrabelle community! Thank you to C-Quarters
Marina for providing the location. The Carrabelle History Museum will
also have the professional, edited video (thanks to funding by the TDC!)
very soon.
