Sybil Vane is a beautiful, young and extremely poor actress who works
in a London theatre. She is of medium height and her figure is slender.
Her blue eyes are big and deep. She has red and thick lips that stand
out on her snow-white skin.
Actually, her appearance in the movie is brief, but very important. She
triggers the process of moral degradation that consumes Dorian.
Friendly, delicate, represents the pureness of the story. She is educated
and knows how to behave in every moment and place. Naive and
innocent, those two words become the ones that best describe her. She
falls in love with Dorian too quickly and without really knowing who he
is. Sybil believes all his promises and that ends up being her ruin. Dorian
humiliates her, insults her, decides not to marry her and that destroys
her.
Sybil Vane’s tragic love story ends when she commits suicide because
her great love, Dorian Gray, rejects her after she gave him everything
and with her brother James in search of revenge.
