To Whom It May Concern:

It is my great pleasure to recommend Brooklyn Knight for scholarship opportunities. Brooklyn is extremely involved in school and
community activities and has a 4.149-weighted grade point average—an extremely strong and well balanced student!

In addition to working hard on academics, Brooklyn is extremely involved in several high school activities. She qualified as a 2018 KY
Governor’s Scholar alternate. She has been a member of the Apollo High School Varsity Tennis Team for three years, has played on a
community softball team and has been a member of the Apollo Track Team. She has been active in both BETA Club and National
Honor Society for two years. Brooklyn has also been on the Apollo Academic Team for four years and enjoys competing in Governor’s
Cup academic competitions. She is also member and secretary of Spanish National Honor Society.

Not only is Brooklyn active in Apollo High School activities, she is also very active on the campus of Owensboro Commu nity and
Technical College where she is a member of the Early College Academy. She is a Hager’s Scholar, which requires participating on a
leadership team and community service projects. Brooklyn is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and serves as Vice Presiden t of
Scholarship. She also serves as Vice President of the Student Government Association at OCTC. Participating in the Life Science
Academy for three years has given Brooklyn an extensive opportunity for advanced studies in the science field. What an a ctive
student!

Outside of high school, Brooklyn is active in her church and youth group. She serves on her church’s worship group as a team leader
and is a nursery worker for young children. Brooklyn was selected by teachers to participate in the Hugh O’ Bryan Youth Leadership
program, where she participated in a seminar and hands on project that allowed her to help construct beds for local people in her
community that did not have them. Brooklyn has obtained over a hundred volunteer hours through her many clubs and
organizations.

Please strongly consider Brooklyn for any scholarship opportunities you offer. As you can see, she thrives on performing extremely
well academically and on being very active in school and community activities and organizations. In the past Brooklyn tended to be
more humble and non-seeking of attention for her accomplishments. However, through her involvement and community service, she
has developed communication and leadership skills through her interactions with students, adults, and from public speaking
opportunities that she has excelled in. She is a much stronger and well-balanced individual because of her intentional efforts of self-
growth. She will be a tremendous asset to college campus life and is very deserving of any scholarship money that will help her
finance her education.

Thank you for your consideration,
