AS IMPLEMENTED IN THE UNITED KINGDOM BY THE SUPPLY OF
MACHINERY (SAFETY) REGULATIONS 1992 (S.l. 1992/3073).
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS ARE

6 KEEP HANDS AWAY FROM FUEL SPRAYS, ESPECIALLY INJECTORS. THE SPRAY FROM A
DIESEL INJECTOR CAN PIERCE HUMAN SKIN. TEST OIL ENTERING THE BLOOD STREAM
MAY HAVE FATAL RESULTS,
7 DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE COUPLING GUARD, DO NOT RUN THE STAND AT MORE
THAN 1000 RPM WITH NO PUMP FITTED.PGM OPERATING AND SERVICING MANUAL
19 CARE MUST BE TAKEN TO ENSURE THAT THE CORRECT SPEED LIMIT AND THE CORRECT
ROTATION ARE SELECTED FOR THE PUMP UNDER TEST.
20 CARE MUST BE TAKEN TO REMOVE TOOLS PARTICULARLY THE INCHING BAR ALONG WITH
OTHER MATERIALS SUCH AS CLEANING RAGS ETC. FROM THE AREA NEAR THE PUMP
DRIVE.
24 / ENSURE GOOD LEVELS OF LIGHTING FOR SAFE, EFFICIENT TEST BENCH OPERATION,
22 ‘TAKE CARE TO ENSURE ONLY RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT IS RUN FROM THE AUXILIARY
POWER SOCKET AND THAT IT IS CORRECTLY EARTHED.
23, EAR DEFENDERS OR EAR PLUGS MUST BE WORN BY ALL PERSONNEL IN THE TEST AREA.
LOW FREQUENCY NOISE MAY DAMAGE THE INNER EAR AND CAUSE DEAFNESS.
NOISE HAZARD WARNING
1. NOISE LEVELS AT THE OPERATOR POSITION (IE 1 METRE FROM THE
CENTRAL AXIS OF THE MACHINE AT A HEIGHT OF 1.6 METRES FROM
(GROUND WITH ANINJECTION PUMP RUNNING) ARE VARIABLE DEPENDENT
ON THE SIZE AND SPEED OF THE UNIT UNDER TEST.
2, TESTS HAVE SHOWN HOWEVER, THAT THE OPERATOR IS EXPOSED TO
SOUND PRESSURE LEVELS AT THE ABOVE POSITIONS USUALLY IN EX-
(CESS OF 80 dB(A) WHILE THE INJECTION PUMP IS RUNNING.
3. UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES, (HIGH PUMP SPEEDS, HIGH INJEC-
TION DELIVERIES, HIGH INJECTION RATES, HIGH INJECTION PRESSURES
AND MULTIPLE CYLINDERS), IN EXCESS OF 95 dB(A) - MEAN SOUND
PRESSURE LEVEL HAS BEEN MEASURED. THIS IS EQUIVALENT TO A
SOUND POWER LEVEL IN EXCESS OF 100 dB(A).
4, WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM RUNNING AND THE TEST BENCH DRIVE ROTAT-
ING AT ITS MAXIMUM POSSIBLE SPEED THE SOUND POWER LEVEL IS
LESS THAN 90 dB(A). WITH THE FLUID SYSTEM RUNNING ALONE THIS
LEVEL DROPS TO BELOW A SOUND POWER LEVEL OF 75 dB(A).
