For over 50 Years...Eaton engineers have been design- tained our technology leadership by developing multi-

dampers are used in construction, off and on-highway including the 7-Spring and
and severe service applications. Eaton engineers the V.C.T.™ (Vibration

TAKE TORSIONAL VIBRATION
A STANDARD DAMPER
As an engine’s normal operating range shifted
from 1500 to 1200 rpm, severe torsional
vibration moved into the vehicle’s operating
range. With the use of a standard damper
(non Soft-Rate), these severe torsional vibra-
tions can be present while the driver is cruis-
ing down the highway. Thus, your drivetrain
can be continuously exposed to severe tor-
sional activity. These torsional vibrations can
be twice the peak torque of the engine.

Eaton recommends the use of Soft-Rate Dampers (7-Spring and V.C.T.) in all new truck applications for vehicles over 1,000 Ft-Lbs of torque.
