Date 07-21-93 at 1030 hours I was contacted by phone by Sterling Van Wagenen.

H e ~ n e e d e d to report a case of a child abuse. He · gave me the name
year old male, as the victim. He gave his name as Sterling
Van Wagenen, he said that the was the perpetrator. I told Mr. Van Wagenen that
if he needed to give me the information on this case that it would probably be
best to meet with me at the police station, he agreed to do so. He said that
he wanted to clear up this matter.

At 1300 hours Sterling Van Wagenen met with myself in the interview room at Salt
Lake County Sheriff's Office, fifth floor Juvenile Division. The interview was
tape recorded. Sterling states that in the early morning hours approxi- atel
0130 or two o'clock in the morning of July 15, 1993, he had been awake

Sterling states that he had walked downstairs into the family room. He said

abdomen. Said that he then touched - - on the penis. Said that he did not
attempt to masturbate - - Said that he touched him over his clothing and did
not reach under at aflY1:ime. He indicated that - woke up after
approximately two minutes of this occurring.
