Below you will find an academic resume format that will help you in creating a winning resume.

It is a
good idea to gather all of your information and details together before writing your resume, so that you
can easily include it in your academic resume.

1. Name, address and contact information. At the top of your academic resume, you want to list all
pertinent personal information:

Name - First and Last

Street Address

City, State and Zip Code

Telephone numbers (Home/Cell)

Email Address

2. Career objective. This is a short sentence or two describing where you want your career to go in a way
that also demonstrates how your goals will benefit the company.

3. Career profile. Also called qualifications, your profile should include skills, qualifications,
accomplishments, experience or character traits you possess that make you a suitable candidate for the
position. In an academic resume, this may include:

Awards you have received

Programs you have developed or executed

Skills you possess that enhance your aptitude for the job

A demonstration of your love for children, or that you have your own

4. Experience and practice. In this section, you want to list information pertaining to work history and
highlight achievements or accomplishments. List the employers you have worked for along with dates of
employment, your position in the company and a list of those duties you were responsible for.

Name of most recent employer

City, State

Dates worked

Job title

List any special accomplishments and responsibilities here

Employer #2 - follow same pattern as above

5. Education information. In this section of your academic resume, you want to list the names of the
colleges attended along with any degrees you obtained, and honors or awards you earned during that
time.

Name of college, degree obtained on first line

Honors and awards received during your time at this college

6. List any skills that pertain to the position you are applying for. These skills should be highlighted in a
way that demonstrates how they will benefit the position. If you have exceptional leadership, computer
or language skills, list them in this section of your academic resume.

7. References. While some job candidates do list references on their resume, it isn't essential to do so.
Create a separate list of references so that you have one to provide the employer should they ask for
references.

This academic resume format should help you create a professional, attention-grabbing resume that will
impress a potential employer. Be sure to write your resume in a way that demonstrates your enthusiasm
for the job, and that highlights the skills and talents you possess that relate directly to the job.
