LARGE SEA SHELL #1

MATERIALS: White (001) - or-color of your choice - size 10 - knit-Cro-Sheen. #7

steel crochet hook.

RND 1: Work in continuous rnds, not joining, but marking each rnd as you work unless

otherwise stated. Ch 2, 3 sc and 3 hdc in 2nd ch from hook.

RND 2: 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc, 1 hdc in each of the next 3 hdc.

RND 3: Repeat 2

RND 4: 2 sc in each st around.

RND 5: 1 sc in each of next 4 sc; ch 3, sc in the 3rdch from the hook (bump), sc in the

same sc as the last sc; around. (3 bumps)

RND 6: 1 sc in each of next 2 sc; ch 3, sc in the 3rd ch from the hook (bump), sc in the

same sc as the last sc; around. (8 bumps)

RND 7: *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next two sc*, cont. from * to *. ((NOTE: The

last st of the 1 sc dec will be worked through the st with the marker.))

RND 8: 1 sc in each sc around, then sc in the st with the marker. (15 sc) ((Make sure
you have 15 sc at the end of this round.))

RND 9: 2 sc in each sc around. (30 sc)

RND 10: 1 sc in each of next 4 sc; ch 3, sc in 3rd ch from hook, sc back in same st as

last sc (bump) ending with 1 sc in each of last 2 sc. (7 bumps)

RND 11: *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to* marker.

RND 12: 1 sc in each sc around.

RND 13: 2 sc in each sc around.

RND 14: 1 sc in each of next 4 sc; ch 3, sc in the 3rd ch from hook, sc back in same st

as last sc (bump) ending with 1 sc in each of last 2 sc. (12 bumps)

RND 15: *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to *.

RND 16: 1 sc in each sc around.

ROW 17: Note: You will now be working in rows and don’t need to use the marker.

Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each of next 2 sc; 1 sc in each sc up to last two sc; 2 sc in each of the

last 2 sc.

ROW 18: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 19: Repeat row 16.

ROW 20: Ch 1, turn, *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to * up to

the last 3 sc; 2 sc in each of the last 3 sc.

ROW 21: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each of next 2 sc; 1 sc in each sc up to the last 2 sc; 2 sc in

each of the last 2 sc.

ROW 22: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc up to the last 2 sc; 2 sc in each of the last 2 sc.
ROW 23: Ch 1, turn, *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to * until

you reach the end of the row.

ROW 24: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each of next 2 sc; 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 25: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 26: Ch 1, turn, *1 sc in next sc, 1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to* up to

the last sc; 1 sc in the last sc.

ROW 27: Repeat row 22.

ROW 28: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc across.

ROW 29: Repeat row 27.

ROW 30: Repeat row 27.

ROW 31: Repeat row 27.

ROW 32: Repeat row 27.

ROW 33: Repeat row 27.

ROW 34: Ch 1, turn, *1 sc dec over next 2 sc*, cont. from * to * up to marker.

ROW 34: Ch 1, turn, *1 sc dec*, cont. from * to * up to last sc; 1 sc in last sc..

((NOTE: You can make the shell longer here if you want to, just add sc dec‘s or

sc‘s.)) Break off leaving a very long thread. Use the thread to form and tack the end of

the shell in place. Stuff and shape.
