A STUDY OF STUDENTS ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING STYLE

AT SECOND VIII OF SMPN 1 WONGGEDUKU

The objective of the study was to identify the learning style of the second year
students of SMP Negeri 1 Wonggeduku in learning English. Based on the
background, the research question of this study was " What are the learning style
of the second year students of SMP Negeri 1 Wonggeduku" In the present study
the writer focused on sensory learning style. This study used a descriptive
quantitative design. This study was conducted at the second year students of
SMP Negeri 1 Wonggeduku who registered in academic year 2018/2019. For this
study the writer took the data from two hundede (70) respondents as the sample
which taken randomly. The data collect in this study will analyze in a scoring
system uses percepitual learning style preference questionnaire. After seeing and
arranging the scores, the presents studi brought the fact that the students at the
second year of SMP Negeri 1 Wonggeduku were generally major or mostly
preferred visual and group learning style. Both of these learning style draw
average (38.76) and (38.76) These scores involves into major learning style.
Visual, tactile, kinesthetic in individual were indicates as minor learning style
preferences with distribution score as follows: auditory (36.86) kinesthetic (35.7)
tactile (36.38) and individual (34.63). besides those findings, the writer also
noticed that there were some students with multiple learning style.
