Innovation Fellow - Business Development

Job Responsibilities:

 NIF has scouted thousands of herbal traditional knowledge and grassroots innovations. Your
primary challenge is to convert these innovations and traditional knowledge into enterprises.

 Identifying potential licensees for various technologies within India and abroad ensuring fair and
equitable benefit sharing is another important goal of BD section.

 All the activities related to third party licensing & business development have to be
conceptualized, operationalized and reviewed from time to time.

 Seminars will have to be presented periodically backed up by proper data analysis and literature
reviewed.

 Building business development mentors network. Managing online incubation support system
including managing and regular updating of online and offline catalogues at NIF website and other
B2B websites.

 Fellow should be able to appraise the technology, access its market potential through formal and
informal market research methods, develop business plan for converting an innovator into an
entrepreneur or help license the technology to third parties within the country or outside and
assisting innovators / licensees in securing market viability and success.

 Fellow shall have to develop investment proposals, get them assessed by experts and monitor
their implementation for generating income in the hands of the knowledge providers.

 You have to work with women groups to develop commercialize able technologies for their own
use or larger market use.

 In addition, you have to develop business plans for Micro Venture Innovation Fund (MVIF) set up
at NIF, managing the fund so that disbursements pick up without compromising with prudence
and due diligence, ensuring regular follow up with the innovators supported under the scheme
for repayments, and providing them guidance them from time to time as required.

 You shall have to support/facilitate student club for augmenting innovations (SCAI) in different
institutions and also set them up at higher institutions of learning of strategic importance.

 Developing content for the website and regular updating

 Any other work assigned by CIO/NICs
