Our heavy lift equipment consists of:
400T ‐ M16000 Manitowoc with Wheeled Maxer option –
This complete and capable crane is a leader in the 400T class and with the
inclusion of a Maxer, can compete with the footprint of a 400T crane
against the best of the 500T crane class. This equipment creates
operational benefits in long term projects requiring considerable lifting
capacities at a distance.

Hi Peter,
I would just like to take the time to thank yourself, Paul and Gary for your assistance throughout the time that Freo Cranes have been mobilised at Nammuldi.
Your team has provided feedback and advice that has helped Civmec plan and mitigate the unexpected issues that we came across during your time here. All of
the Freo team have been approachable, knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to work with.
Sourcing the bog matts for Civmec when our original order fell through is an example of how you went over and above the expectations of a subcontractor in
order to help out the site team.
I would also like to thank your offsite team, Ivo and Tessa, for their support with preparing drawings and rigging configurations for our heavy lifts. Their service
was impressive and the quality of the work was well received by our client.
Furthermore, we look forward to building a strong relationship with Freo that strives to achieve successful outcomes for all parties involved.
Regards,
Matthew Heard

To whom it may concern:
The Freo‐Group was contracted to perform a time critical operation during Murrin‐Murrin’s 2013 triennial shutdown. The task involved provision of a heavy lift crane with
rigging and operators for replacement of a 200t vertical shell & tube heat exchanger and also piecemeal removal and replacement of an economiser‐superheater stack
within the acid plant. The task was completed ahead of schedule without incident and was a great example of exceptional planning and reliable equipment.
The pre‐planning phase involved a full lift study detailing clearances and radius to loads throughout all lifts the crane would be performing, detailing the rigging and
transportation and assembly plans. Full manning plans were also critical in the pre‐planning phase providing confidence in the work execution strategy during a plant
outage environment.
The mobilisation of the crane was managed by Freo Group also. This task involved logistics of 90 trailers and integration with other crane vendors for unloading the crane
segments. This occurred seamlessly and was managed by Freo Group Project Manager – Peter Brandwood.
The assembly of the crane occurred also without issue and was implemented over several phases as the crane was too large to fully assemble in the desired operational
area. The tracks and cab were constructed on the main road before driving into the operational area where the remaining boom and back mast assemblies, counterweights
and peripherals were assembled over the next week.
During the outage Freo Group was expected to coordinate with several other sub‐contractors for scaffolders, mechanical teams and client shutdown
management, which they integrated without issue. As the project was a critical path for the plant outage, the heavy lift team was also expected to conduct lifts on
nightshift. All efforts in pre‐planning were executed flawlessly.
I have no hesitation in recommending the Freo‐Group for any heavy lift operations on remote sites. They acted safely and professionally, provided a cost effective
solution and integrated with other contractor groups without concerns.

We do require the assistance of local contractors from time to time to facilitate with these projects.
Freo Group have been a valuable customer for McConnell Dowell on these projects whether it is to supply the project works with the hire of cranes, machinery, transport (on a wet or

We as company have always found them to be very understanding of the needs of the project & to be able to supply the plant and equipment required at competitive costs, on time
and of a good quality. The people involved have good product knowledge , are conscientious and are always willing to assist and offer alternate solutions if required.
McConnell Dowell while working in Western Australia hopes to carry on with this good workingrelationship into the foreseeable future.
