Dale Mitsuing takes CPCA title in rookie season

takes years to win a
Canadian Professional
Chuckwagon Associa-
tion (CPCA) champi-
onship, but when the
dust settled at Hal-
stead Downs on Sun-
day afternoon it was
rookie driver Dale Mit-
suing holding the keys
to a brand new Dodge
pickup, and he didn’t
hold them for long.
The 30-year-old
driver has been a famil-
iar face around the
CPCA for over a decade
since he got his start
in outriding, but con-
sidering his father
and seven-time CPCA
champion, Ray Mitsu-
ing, has been driving
for the past 36 years,
the rookie driver grew
up with wagon box rac-
ing in his blood.
Three years ago when
his father Ray won his
seventh championship
he gifted Dale his prize
truck, and right after
receiving the keys to his
new truck on Sunday,
Dale quickly paid back
the favour and gave the
truck to his dad.
