USES OF TULSI
1. It is used as an antiseptic, antiviral and
antibiotic.
2. It is used in cough and cold with Kali mirch,
Ginger juice and honey.
3. Face pack prepared from the juice of Tulsi and
honey clears the oily skin and improves the skin
glow.
4. External appliaction of juice of Tulsi, lime Juice
eradicates pimples with softness of skin.
5. It is very useful in chronic fever.
6. Keeping a Tulsi plant in the house will prevent
all types of insects and mosquitoes, so that
Malaria and Dengue etc. can be prevented.

USES OF BRAHMI
● Relieves Anxiety and Tension.
● Restores Memory Power.
● Crush few tender leaves of Brahmi as well as
expressed juice, two tsf before meals is effective
in nervous disorders like Epilepsy, Insomnia
etc.
● External appliaction of Oil prepared from
Brahmi and Amalki is good for Eyes and Hair
(10 - 15 ml. twice a day).
● Its paste is applied in Ulcer and other Skin
Disorders.
● Useful in Diabetes Mellitus.
● It Stimulates Appetite and used in Indigestion
and Dysentery.

It is one of the purest forms of Natural Vitamin-C.

OF
10 ml. Juice of Neem leaves with honey twice a day
relieves skin diseases.
Paste of Neem leaves on fresh wounds or bark of
Neem with water in fresh wounds will be helpful.
20 ml. Decoction of Neem leaves is helpful in worm
infestation.
Decoction of Neem leaves to be applied on head one
hour before bath to get relieved of dandruff.
Neem powder, red Sandalwood Powder and Curd in
equal proportion; Make a paste and apply on Pimples.
10 to 15 Fresh Tender Leaves of Neem helps in
controling Diabeties.

Q.7 Are Ayurvedic drugs safe? Free from side
effects?
A. Yes. All the Ayurvedic drugs are safe and free
from side effects if they are prepared according
to Ayurvedic texts.
Q.8 Do the Ayurvedic heavy metallic preparations
(Rasaaushadhis) are harmful?
A. No. If the metallic preparations are processed
strictly as per the classics of Ayurveda, no heavy
metal will be left in harmful dose in the prepared
drug. Moreover the metal will be converted into
organometallic compound form for therapeutic
use. Therefore, Ayurvedic metallic preparations
are safe.
Q.9 Are Ayurvedic medicines costly?
A. Most of the Ayurvedic medicines are cheap and
cost effective. We can utilize the available drugs/
spices of the kitchen and garden for common
ailments.
Q.10 Does Ayurveda cures disease completely?
A. Yes. If the treatment is given as per classical texts
with Shodhana therapy(Panchkarma- the vitiated
doshas are eliminated in these processes) and
Shamana drugs, the disease is cured completely
along with appropriate diet.
Q.11 Is body massage/oleation Ayurvedic Panch
Karma?
A. No. The widely publicized body massage/
oleation is only a part of Poorva Karma for the

preparation of Panch Karma. Unfortunately, it is
wrongly publicized as Panch Karma.
Q.12 What is Panch Karma?
A. Ayurvedic Panch Karma is five dimensional
therapeutic process which purifies the body and
mind and eliminates toxins from the body.
Panchkarma contains five Shodhana processes:-
(i) Vamana (emesis)
(ii) Virechan (purgation)
(iii) Vasti (enema with medicated oil/
decoction).
(iv) Nasya (Nasal medication / snuffing).
(v) Rakta Mokshana (blood letting)
Q.13 What is Ksharsutra?
A. Ksharsutra is a medicated thread used as a
parasurgical procedure for treating the deseases
permanently like Fistula-in-Ano (Bhagandara),
Piles (Arshas), Sentinal tags, Sinus (Nadivrana)
and any pediculated growths etc.
Q.14 Is it necessary to follow dietitic and other
restrictions while taking Ayurvedic
medicines?
A. Yes. It is necessary to follow the dietetic and other
advised restrictions as these are the part of
Ayurvedic Treatment.
Q.15 What about Allopathic medicine claims on
Ayurvedic drugs?
A. All the claims by modern medicine on Ayurvedic
drugs are based on Allopathic parameters only.
Any drug / system has to be assessed and
analyzed as per their own parameters but not
on others.

Q.16 Are all the diseases are cured through
Ayurveda?
A. No. Every system has their own limitations.
Diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension etc., can
be controlled only.
Q.17 Is Ayurveda only for chronic diseases?
A. No. Ayurveda cures acute as well as chronic
diseases effectively.
Q.18 Does Ayurvedic has surgery?
A. Certainly, the father of modern plastic surgery-
Sushrurta (ancient Ayurvedic Surgeon) popular
worldwide. The modern surgical techniques /
concepts are based on Sushruta Samhita (A text
book on Surgery).
Q.19 Does Ayurveda have postgraduate
specialization?
A. Yes. Ayurveda has postgraduate specialization
in clinical and non clinical subjects like
medicine; surgery, gynae/obst., paediatrics,
pharmacology, anotomy and physiology and
Ayurvedic Pharmacuetics etc.
