experienced a lifetime of real moments, and many of them were happy
moments.’

then attract it into their lives.

The aim of research is the discovery of the equations which subsist between the
elements of phenomena [events].
Ernst Mach

This book is a history in form but a biography in spirit. That term is technically
inaccurate, as one cannot literally write the record of a life for something that
does not live. To the extent that we can speak of the World Trade Organization
(WTO) as if it were living, however, it is still young. In most of its members, the
WTO would barely be of legal age to drink, drive and vote. It has nevertheless
[yet] been around long [extensive] enough to permit preliminary assessments
[calculations] of those events that have changed the composition of its
membership and altered the ways that those members interact with one
another.

… They have to change over time because species change over time, so they had
to have a kind of memory. And then I hit on the idea of morphic resonance,
which is the idea that each species has a kind of collective memory. Every
similar thing influences all subsequent, similar things over space and time. It
really, when generalized, leads to the idea that the so-called “laws of nature”
are more like habits.
Rupert Sheldrake
David Cayley
The revelation that people have less than a fifth the number of genes originally
predicted [predictable] is just one of a number of recent setbacks [obstacles] to
the genes-explain-everything euphoria that followed the modelling of DNA.
Subsequent genetic research has continuously added new layers of complexity
and context to this simple model of gene action. Yet [In spite of that] at the same
time, commercial applications of genomics have rapidly expanded, and bio-
technology has boomed [developed]. This is the paradoxical reality that Brian
Wynne is now trying address. And, as in the past, what has interested him
particularly is the way in which genomics is being presented to the public.
David Cayley
Galton, Francis
A discovery is the product of a previous discovery and in its turn it will give
rise to a further [added] discovery.
From individual minds are born all great discoveries and revolutions of
thought. New ideas may be in the air, and more or less present in many minds,
but it is always an individual who at the last takes the creative step and enriches
mankind with the living germ-thought of a new era of opinion.
Huggins, William
It is excellent, interesting work. We only wish that you had involved us more.
Simon A. Levin
True indeed [in fact]. In these times of emailing, messaging, chatting, posting
and tweeting, simply picking up the phone and talking something through has
a unique quality. It can express particular respect for the interlocutor, and can
underline the importance of what you want to talk about.
Jan-Christoph Heilinger
Early-career researchers often receive from their mentors words of wisdom that
stay with them for the rest of their lives. In this book, contributors from around
the world share the tips that shaped their thinking. Words of Wisdom is a trove
[discovered treasury] of scholarly [studious] advice, and a celebration of
academic mentorship.
Systems - Managers are not confronted with problems that are independent of
each other, but with dynamic situations that consist of complex systems of
changing problems that interact with each other. I call such situations messes

Education
Man's greatest enemy is inside him, not outside. It is relatively easier for man to
conquer the world than to conquer himself. A man comes in this world for a
fixed period. During this period he gives something to the world and he also
takes something from the world. If he gives more to the world than what he
takes, he becomes a 'net giver'. If he takes more from the world than what he
gives, he becomes a 'net itaker'.
…diversity of human cultures and conditions. Related to this value has been the
search for 'truth' which is the core of science, of gaining knowledge. Knowledge
has been extolled [inscribed] as a means for overcoming conflicts a rising from
ignorance. In one of the Upanishads, the Guru advises his disciple who desires
peace of mind, to take to the threefold path of (a) knowledge to end conflict with
nature, (b) service to end conflict with other human beings, and (c) renunciation
to end the internal conflict which goes on [continues] in the mind when many
pleasures are greedily [insatiably] sought [pursued] from life.

Some people dream of success, while other people get up every morning and
make it happen.
Wayne Huizenga
People who succeed have momentum. The more they succeed, the more they
want to succeed, and the more they find a way to succeed. Similarly, when
someone is failing, the tendency is to get on a downward [descending] spiral
that can even become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle

The enterprise that does not innovate ages [time of life] and declines. And in a
period of rapid change such as the present the decline will be fast.

Empowerment does not take place in a vacuum [nothingness]. In the same way
that Ms. Lazo talks about women's state of powerlessness [weakness] as a result
of "a combination and interaction of environmental factors," one can also
discuss the conditions/factors that can hasten [speed up] or hinder [frustrate]
empowerment. As above, the listing is a preliminary one based on the
discussions.

(MUSIC) BOB DOUGHTY: Sigmund Freud was born May sixth, eighteen fifty-
six, in Moravia, in what is now the Czech Republic. He lived most of his life in
Vienna, Austria. Early in his adulthood, Freud studied medicine. By the end of
the nineteenth century, he was developing some exciting new ideas about the
human mind. But his first scientific publications dealt with sea animals,
including the sexuality of eels.
FAITH LAPIDUS: Freud was one of the first scientists to make serious research
of the mind. The mind is the collection of activities based in the brain that
involve how we act, think, feel and reason.
He used long talks with patients and the study of dreams to search for the causes
of mental and emotional problems. He also tried hypnosis. He wanted to see
if putting patients into a sleep-like condition would help ease troubled minds.
In most cases he found the effects only temporary.
Freud worked hard, although what he did might sound easy. His method
involved sitting with his patients and listening to them talk. He had them talk
about whatever they were thinking. All ideas, thoughts and anything that
entered their mind had to be expressed. There could be no holding back because
of fear or guilt.

«I formulated a project for the CBTIS (Technological Industrial and of Services Center of
Bachelor Degree) 107 of Tuxtepec, Oaxaca, México consisting in giving to the Library of this
Institution with five volumes of English language, of my authorship. A book for each semester,
from the first English book to fifth English book (according to the plan of studies in this regard
of the CBTIS). At no cost to the Institution, because this is a donation (in the staff, I solve my
expenses of the project with income of my employment as a professor that I would be in this
CBTIS).
One of the major advantages of this project is to solve the need of the student of
spending in books of English language because the books will be at your complete disposal into
the student community in the Library of the institution.
Afterward, in an immediate subsequent phase of this project is that among the student
community of this CBTIS and all the CBTIS of the United Mexican States will have these 5
volumes of English language by means of a page of Google; read it, neither cost nor restriction
to obtain them.
Well, as a last note, I must say that these books will have the format of 'workbook'.
This, as an intelligent work with foundations and then their respective exercises to resolve, into
a concurrent process». M.C. Enrique Ruiz Díaz.
