What have been learnt:

- Designing Engaging Tasks
- Giving Feedback on Speaking & Writing

In making activities interesting, vary the way of learning. Variations can be from any side, both in terms
of activities, themes, methods, and ways of interacting and learning types of students.

In language instruction, the important thing is to instill confidence and keep it from being lost. The way
to create confidence in students is to make activities in accordance with the level of each child, in other
words, it is ensured that children will succeed in doing a challenge. When he finds that he will fail in the
game, he will be very attractive and will not be involved in the learning process, because they will
disappear. Increased levels of material and challenges must be created like stairs that are easy to climb,
but increasingly rising.

We need to make students work on their own tasks by making sure the instructions are clear, simple
and not overlapping. After giving instructions, the teacher checks the students 'understanding not by
asking "Do you understand" in the form of "yes-no questions" because it cannot measure students'
understanding, the teacher checks it by giving a "WH question" question, like “what are we going to
do?” “what will we write?”. If the students can answer it correctly, so they understand the instructions.
Then, so students work on the activities given sincerely, the assignments given must be real and directly
related to the life of the student. The more activities related to student life, the more attractive towards
the students.

Teachers may start learning with something funny and ridiculous. It can also make students wonder and
be curious. An example of an activity that makes students curious so that they want to read is by giving
students an interesting quiz but the answer can only be found if they read, they are not given any clue
and are not told that they will read. Students are asked to guess. After they have finished trying to
answer the quiz, the teacher provides appropriate reading, automatically, students will read on their
own desires. Then, when students have entered the activity, the teacher helps students to start
production activities such as speaking and writing with prompting.

In terms of input (reading & listening), students should be given a variety, if in terms of input reading,
then from various types of reading. If input is listening, then from different types of speakers from
audio, it's not just 'listening' to the teacher.

The more senses and kinesthetic of children are involved, the more it will attract students to participate
in activities.

The way to give feedback to children is very important, because giving wrong feedback will bring down
the child's mental and self-confidence.

There are two types of giving feedback, namely Hot Feedback and Cold Feedback. Hot feedback is, giving
feedback right after it occurs. Whereas cold feedback is at the end of learning

Focuses which are given feedback are two things: first is language focus, the second is performance
focus. Feedback can be in the form of giving praise or giving improvement.

How to improve students can by (1) making students aware and correcting themselves, (2) parroting the
wrong part without correcting (3) by giving questions (4) repeating students' words with corrected
sentences (5) recording student errors and discussing them in end of activity.
