Congratulations NUPA. Your Corporate status is now restored. It has been

my goal to get NUPA up to date with its corporate status and with the
Bylaws for some time now. At our next general meeting I will have re-
vised copies of the Bylaws for your reading pleasure and scrutiny. The Di-
rectors of NUPA have hashed out some changes and clarification to the
Bylaws and now it is your turn to vote on those changes. If you would
like a copy of the Bylaws emailed to you please let me know. We will be
distributing the packet at the October General meeting and then voting
on them at our Christmas party.

Please consider serving NUPA in the coming year. NUPA is volunteer run
and needs the help of the membership to keep things running. If you
have not served on the Board of Directors please consider putting you
name into the running. If you would like to be a member at large you do
not have to be nominated just volunteer. You will then need to attend
two meetings per month. Being part of the inner workings of NUPA can
be exciting and rewarding. I have learned a lot over the past several
years as I have served. I now promise to stop hogging all the fun stuff so
someone else can have some fun. See you at the meeting.

Tim

October 26...General Meeting…Curt Dayton will be the

speaker this month. He has guests coming from California that
have been prospecting with him. He will also have a limited num-
ber of bags of concentrates for sale at the meeting.
October 29-31... “Rock Your World” Show! October
29-31 at the Golden Spike Events Center. The hours are: 10:00 am
to 7:00 pm on Friday and Saturday and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on
Sunday. There will be demonstrators there showing how to do jew-
elry work, lapidary and interesting things like that. Dealers will be
there selling things like crystals, rocks and gemstones, jewelry, rock
slabs, fossils, meteorites, petrified wood, metaphysical, gemstone
beads, etc.

November 9...Board of Director’s Meeting

November 20...Turkey Shoot...The location will be the same as last year, at the Methodist
church in Marriot-Slaterville. The cost this year will be $5 a person or $20 for a family, in advance, $7
per person and $25 for a family at the door. The reservation date is at October’s General Meeting (this
way we can buy enough food for everyone). The family consists of the immediate family members that
live with you. Guests and other family members are welcome to come and the cost will be the same for
them. If any members would like to donate a turkey (frozen) for prizes, please let an officer know be-
fore hand. Note the change of date, please!

December 14...Christmas Party and Officer Elections...The party is being held at the
air terminal. We will be having door prizes, raffle drawings and a gift exchange. The gift exchange has
a $20 limit, but if you don’t want to participate , no worries. We voted at the last General Meeting and
prime rib won out for what will be served. The cost to you is $10 and the club will be picking up the
rest of the tab. This is a great price for a complete Prime Rib dinner! This will be the night that we
elect our new officers, and is the one meeting throughout the year that it’s adults only. We need to
give an accurate head count for the dinner...There for, we will need you to reserve
and pay for the meal on or by November’s General Meeting! There won’t be a “At
the Door “ opportunity on this night!

Make sure you come to the meetings and put your input in for what and
where you’d like to do and go!

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I
thought to myself, “Where the heck is the ceiling?!”
