CSC & SSC MASS INDUCTION 2008

Maria Leslie A. Lazarte

September 13, 2008 – Auditorium
THANK YOU VERY MUCH ___________________________. (master of
ceremony)

MR. JOSE ANTHONY M. TAMAYO, Chairman, Presidential Management and

Staff,
DR. RAMON C. CERCADO, our Grand Chancellor,
MR. ALFONSO H. LORETO, our School Director,
MS. BONA MAE B. TIONGSON, our SPS Executive Director,

All cluster directors, department heads, respective college deans, college student
councils, sectoral organizations, dear advisers, Perpetualite student leaders,

Ladies and gentlemen,

Good evening.

This turnover ceremony is memorable not only because of the very warm welcome
you have given me as an outgoing SSC officer; but more so because it signifies a
change in leadership and the turning of a new page in the history of this institution.

Tonight, as I represent the SSC 2007-2008 for our President is out of the country right
now, we will be turning over our duties and responsibilities as SSC officers to our
successors, to be led by their president, Ms. Dohnne Dhianne Mae B. Tiongson. This
should be a joyous moment, but as I look back on my term as an SSC officer, there’s
certain heaviness in my heart that I can’t seem to get rid off.

Last school year, I have served the Perpetualite community for two major positions.
First, as SSC Vice President and next, as Editor-in-Chief of Altitude 2008, our
University Yearbook. Each position is not an easy feat but as I went on, I have grown
to love the responsibility it entails and the people and friends I work with. Sentimental
as this may sound, it gave me more reasons to look forward to going to school
everyday.

The SSC has experienced numerous highs and lows but, with the support and
encouragement of the people around us who never doubted our capabilities, we
persevered and succeeded.
In behalf of the SSC 2007-2008, allow me to acknowledge these people, whose
magnanimous hearts left a mark in the success of all our activities:

To the Tamayo family, as represented tonight by Mr. Anthony M. Tamayo, thank you
for the immense trust and support.

My sincerest gratitude to Dr. Ramon C. Cercado, our Grand Chancellor and Mr.
Alfonso H. Loreto, our School Director, for being accommodating and for always
backing us up.

I thank our SSC Adviser, Mr. Christopher E. Villanueva, for his commendable
leadership by example and relentless support. His dynamism and competence shall
always inspire us as we continue with our life as alumni.

To Mr. Ruel A. Lavapie, Mr. Donnato M. Hernandez and Ms. Beth Reyes, thank you
for believing and trusting in us.

I have of course, reserved my deepest appreciation and gratitude to Ms. Bona Mae B.
Tiongson, our dear SPS Executive Director, for her guidance and encouragement to
take on the responsibilities and challenges of the tasks at hand.

To the entire Perpetualite studentry, I am honored and greatly humbled by this

wonderful experience of being able to serve you. Thank you very much for this rare
opportunity.

To my co-SSC officers, Argel Ramiro, Marco Escaño, Dondee Tiongson, Paola

Hufano and Lyka Macabuag, thank you so much for your effort, time and sacrifices. I
have never seen such determined and grounded individuals. You continuously inspire
me and it makes me really proud to be part of this organization.

And above all, I thank the Almighty God for His saving grace and blessings in all the
activities that we have undertaken.

Having been part of the SSC has given me honor not only for the studentry that I
serve but for the school that I represent. For the last two years, we have all witnessed
the significant changes in the SSC constitution that have somehow, in the context of
political development and parity, have redesigned the future of our student
government.

With these changes, the challenge of leading the Perpetualite student government
toward greater integrity, service, and openness, is indeed, formidable. But, as I look at
my successor, I’m very positive and confident that this organization under her
leadership, will accomplish everything that they have envisioned and may even
surpass what we have achieved.
Dondee, I bequeath this book, symbolic of the SSC duties and responsibilities to you
on behalf of the Supreme Student Council 2007-2008.

Maraming-maraming salamat po at mabuhay kayong lahat!
