Epuni School
Nau mai e te whānau o te Kura Epuni,
Tēna koutou katoa,
It was lovely sitting out on the lawn eating takeaways and
catching up with whānau at our Meet the Teacher evening last
Thursday. If you were unable to join us please make time to
touch base with your child/ren’s teacher. Working and talking
together is the best way we can support our tamariki.
Over the past few days our kura has been learning about and
practicing the protocol for a pōwhiri. I have been so proud
watching our older students step up and take a leading role and
hearing the school sing with such heart. The pōwhiri is on
Monday 18th February at 10:00am to welcome the Education
Review Office (ERO) to our kura. You are most welcome to join
us.
SeeeSaw is a great way to connect with what your tamariki are
currently learning and working on. Many whānau have already
signed up again this year, if you are unsure of how to access
SeeSaw for your child please talk with the classroom kaiako
(teacher), as they will be able to help you.
A huge thank you to the amazing group of volunteers who took
turns watering the school garden over the break. Epuni School is
so lucky having large grounds for our tamariki to use, however
the upkeep of these grounds is huge. On a Tuesday all classes
have time in the Unity Garden. If you have some time in the
morning it would be fantastic if you are able to join us. With such
warm weather and rain everything is growing fast, so if you have
any spare time, feel free to come in with your weed eater, or
sweep or pulling weeds by hand to make our grounds look
inviting.

will be hosting two ERO reviewers, Kiri Batty
and John Collinson. We will be welcoming
them with a Pōwhiri on Monday 18th

Principal Certificates
The first certificates for the year will be
awarded at our Celebration of Learning on
Friday 22nd February.
School Gate
For the safety of our tamariki, the school gate
is closed from 8.30-9.00am and 2.45-3.15pm.
During this time the chain will be across the
drive so vehicles cannot enter or leave.
From the Office
 It is important, especially in an emergency,
that we have your correct contact details.
Please let the office know if these have
changed since last year.
 Reminder that children need to enter the
main school block by the back door, unless
they are accompanied by an adult.
 If students are late to school, they need to
collect a late card from the office before
going to class.
 Please ensure you sign your children out at
the office if you are taking them out during
school time and sign them back in when
they return.
