Spark Ignited (S.I.

) Engines
run on gaseous fuels like propane,
methane and ethanol. These fuels
and the requirements for low
pressure fuel lines required
significant modifications of the
engine design.

ENGINE DESIGN
Many components such as the connecting rods, crankshafts,
camshafts and blocks are identical.

The air intake, exhaust, cooling and fuel systems have been
changed to accommodate leaner air-fuel mixtures, and a high voltage
spark ignition system has been added.

PISTON DESIGN
On many S.I. Engines, the piston has been redesigned with a
deep cup to facilitate combustion. On others, a flat head piston is
used.

ELECTRONIC
Electronic sensors and timing devices have been added to
improve engine performances on these low emission engines.
