Winner: Concept 1
Concept 1
Attachment: Velcro
Measurement: Systolic
Calculation: Let client input all information
Display: Line Graph (App Only)

Affordable: easily affordable, as velcro is not as expensive a material as 2 or 3.

Easily manufacturable: again fairly easy because of the velcro
Batteries last for at least 12 hours: More likely to have a longer battery life than 2 or 3, as it
doesn’t need to power a screen like 2, and has more space than 3
Accuracy: Systolic only measurement can still measure most important aspects.
Easily operable: Velcro is easy to put on/take off, but it also needs a device to function fully,
which could be confusing.

Concept 2
Attachment: Watch strap
Measurement: Both
Calculation: Gather information ourselves
Display: Recent highlights (Screen on device)
Affordable: this will be the most expensive concept as it uses a screen similar to that of a phone
Easily manufacturable: quite difficult because of the complexity of producing a screen
Batteries last for at least 12 hours: battery should last for awhile, but must be tested
Accuracy: most accurate concept because it measures heart rate in both systolic and diastolic
ways to get the best possible reading
Easily operable: will be very easy as it uses a small screen and will be displayed simply

Concept 3
Attachment: Ring
Measurement: Systolic
Calculation: Let client input all information
Display: Raw numbers (App Only)

Affordable: The ring might use some expensive materials, but not as many as 3. It will still use
more expensive parts than 1, though.
Easily manufacturable: It will be easier to make than 2, as it has no screen, but much more
difficult than 1, which is mainly a strip of velcro.
Batteries last for at least 12 hours: While it doesn’t need to power a screen like 2, it has much
less room for batteries than either 1 or 2.
Accuracy: As is only measures systolic blood pressure, it is less accurate than 2.
Easily operable: Rings can be difficult to put on/take off, and the app design would leave
something to be desired.

Why we chose these evaluation criteria

Affordable: One of our main goals is to help as many people as we can, and we can’t do that if
the device is too expensive for anyone who isn’t extremely rich.
Easily manufacturable: It is important that the device is also easy to make, both so that we can
make as many as needed, and also so that we can sell them for cheap and still enough to stay
in business.
Batteries last for at least 12 hours: The batteries have to last long enough to get through most of
the day, otherwise the device won’t be very useful.
Accurate: Another of our goals is to be more accurate than our competitors, which can be both a
main selling point, as well as help those who need it.
Easily operable/understandable: If we are going to sell to everyone, we need to make sure that
everyone can understand our device. If it isn’t understandable or usable, it is useless.
