1. Introduction
The purpose of this document is to be followed for the commissioning of the Flexi
WCDMA Multiradio in Zain Iraq for the 3G Project.
3.1 Connecting to the BTS locally (your laptop connected to the BTS)
Ensure that you use the following IP address:
・ IP address: 192.168.255.130
・ Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
・ Default Gateway: none
Message may pop up in case of a mismatch between BTS SW version and Site Manager
Version.
Mismatch can be in either direction
BTS SW could be newer than Site Manager SW, or else it could be significantly older.
For this reason, it may be useful to have several minor versions of the same Site Manager
installed on one’s PC

4. Software update
Update SW to BTS Site window open from Browse you select the corresponding SW
Update file saved on your laptop

5. Commissioning
Before you start the commissioning you need to have all the parameter values
available to be entered during commissioning. The parameter values are
provided by the network planning process.
Commissioning type
Template: opens an existing commissioning file and lets you edit the parameters
Planned: read required parameters from a commissioning file and goes directly to
send parameter page
Manual: require you to define all parameters manually
Reconfiguration: displays parameters from the commissioning BTS site and lets
you edit them
From the commissioning type you chose Manual to define all parameters manually

Click next Physical Layer page open, for ATM configuration you chose ATM over Ethernet

On this page you chose ATM over Ethernet if the Transmission interface is PDH/E1, you
check the boxes according to the E1 in use and you chose IMA 33 under IMA group
On this page you chose the timing sources priority; at least a primary
synchronization source should be defined.
Priority 1-IF 1
Priority 2-IF2
Priority 3-Intenal clock as difault
On this page you will define the number of Traffic descriptors according to the planning
On this page you click the check box VCC bundle in use
You define the VP ID, VCI and the Destination Address IP according to the planning
7. Iub IP
On this page you chose Iub IP if the Transmission interface is Ethernet, you check the
boxes according to the Ethernet Interfaces in use.
On this page you click the check box Timing over Packet in use, and you will define the
Master clock address IP
On this page you define the IPs Addresses provide by the project/planner
On this page you define the Timing Source for priority 1 you chose Synchronization
Ethernet EIF 1
8. Hardware commissioning
On this page you give the configuration name and you chose the Time Zone (GMT+3)
Asia/Baghdad
And you check box Transmission Synchronization (TDM/)
On this page you will define the number of local cells, the related antenna line and the
carrier power
For the configuration 1/1/1 you will define 3 cells with maximum 60 watts per
carrier
For the configuration 2/2/2 you will define 6 cells with maximum 30 watts per
carrier as the below snapshoot
On this page you define the RNC Type you chose Nokia Siemens Networks
Click next WCDMA Carrier Candidates and Local Cell Group Setting page will open

On this page you will define the UARFCN for the Local Cell provide by the planning.
Click next Siemens Proprietary AISG1.1 TMARET and RET Settings page will open

Click next System Module External Fault and Control Settings page will open
Page 48 Date: 29 November 2012
Click next Radio Module External Fault and control Settings page will open
Page 49 Date: 29 November 2012
You click on Send Parameters and you wait until the commissioning
finish.
